Ok I can't understand it, I have three webpages in my favorites that won't load. I have tried everything, straight my from my favorites/bookmarks (Firefox & IE), without the www, and even tried going to them through a search engine. Now before someone asks, these webpages worked just this morning before I went to town, and the pages are still working because my friends can access them while I still cannot.

No viruses, no spyware, no adware. I ran CCleaner to clean everything. Im running Vista...

DNS is what converts "human readable" names into internet addresses so your computer knows how to reach the server that the web site is on. It basically works like a giant phone book that gets continuous updates. Your computer stores some names locally but generally will have to look the addresses up from whoever owns the name. Your ISP may (should) also provide a DNS service but if the information isn't there it has to keep passing the request up the chain. It is likely that your computers made a request and your ISP's DNS servers had lost the information and, for whatever reason, wasn't able to get it for you. Windows also has a bad habit of caching these "not found" addresses so even if the DNS gets fixed your computer may do a local lookup and tell you that it can't figure out the name. You can tell when this happens by how fast it goes (it will take a few seconds for the lookup to fail but you'll get the message instantly if it was a local lookup).

then under the same heading of "temp internet files" delete all the Temp files both of these sometimes become corrept and will cause this...plus it won't hurt anything even if it doesn't work...
