Just wondering.
We're told that as of this June, the greater Salt Lake City area will be fresh out of unused 7-digit phone numbers. Couldn't be because everyone & their DOG (probably literally ::) ) has a cell phone now days, could it? Yeesh.
Anyhoo, now we're gonna have to dial 801-xxx-xxxx or 385-xxx-xxxx for each local phone call...if long distance, you put a 1 in front of that. :icon_bs:

How 'bout youz guyz? ???

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Jeez, we've been doing that for probably 15 years or more.

Seems pretty dumb to me, you would think it would make more sense to just make a new area code.

I think that's exactly what they are doing (hence the 10 digits).

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

We have three area codes in Dallas.
I forgot what is was like to dial only 7 #s

Well, I didn't think that me in my "flyover state" would be in any sort of telephone pioneering situation, but I certainly didn't think that some of you guys had already been doing this for 20 years! :o  Looks like I'll be getting used to dialing 10 digits real soon.

According to the proposed plan I saw yesterday, the affected area here will use overlapping area codes. The people who already have the current 801 area code, will remain using that number...but any new numbers in that same area will use the 385 number. Just funky, I'm-a-thinkin'.

I never saw any area that used so many x's in a phone number before. Should be an easy one to remember though.

Just in case we can't figure out how many more numbers he has to dial after the area code.
