Ok, since the fuel rod plug for the mecanical pump is forever a part of the block and never coming out i am forced to run and electric fuel pump in my 69 Charger which i am not happy about but. So i went over to the local speed shop and talked to them for a while and they sold me a Mallory 70 series 5psi electric fuel pump, they said 5 psi is all i need. I don't know, it's a mild 440 with a 509 cam, 906 heads, Edelbrock intake and a Edelbrock 750 carb, is the 5 psi pump enough to feed a big block?? I used to have a holley blue electric pump wich i had regulated down to 5 1/2 psi goin into the carb, it seemed to work but i always thought it wasn't enough. I like to put my foot in it once in a while, you think the 5 psi will keep up??

Now part 2, i had my old holley pump set up under the hood mounted on the inner fender...yes i know that is not the correct set up but it worked, allthough the pump did shit the bed after only a couple years....I want to set this pump up correctly back closer to the gas tank but i can't for the life of me find a safe spot, or any spot to mount it back there. I know there must be some guys running electric pumps, where and how do you mount them under a Charger?? Words can not express how frustrated i am with this car, seems ever since i replaced the old 318 a few years ago with the 440 the car has been cursed!!! Thanks for any help ya'll.

An electric pump is designed to push fuel...not pull it. That might have caused the premature demise of your Holley pump.  :P

I would run the Mallory 110 gph electric pump and mount it on the shock crossmember close to the tank. The 110 mallory will be plenty good for your application.  :2thumbs:
