I believe it depends on what kind of brake system you have, ie, all drums or disc/drums.  I think the disk/drum master is painted black.  And I think the all drum one was cad plated.  But someone else on here will have to verify this.

Sounds right. The charger is all drums. The Challenger is power disk and all black.

The replacement MS I got has silver not cadmium.

     manual drums or power?

You're correct about the power disc tho.  I don't know for sure about prior to 70, but it's a pet peeve of mine seeing natural mc on a black booster.  :Twocents:

power booster.

I'm pretty sure Cadmium is the right finish...now how to make it look like cadmium....

Thanks!

The kit that's available really takes some practice to get just right.  I think I went thru half of all the cans trying to duplicate the finish on my mc cover of the blue car.  It still didn't look right, but not everyones' as picky.

Depending on what you want to spend.  Booster Dewey should be able to do it when he does a booster batch or you could try a can of Krylon battery protector.  I seen someone @ the A12 forum that uses it for lower control arms.  Texas Troy recently did it with nice results.  I'm still trying to find it local to try out on a set of freshly blasted LCA's.

FWIW, if you're using the arm to hold down the mc I dipped the bolt and arm phosphate.  The exposed threads from the lines screwed into the mc can be colored with red & blue permanent marker.

This is my wife original master, as you can see manual brakes, it did come gold, we just painted it our selves
I think it looks good for Duplicolor paint.

Hi All, I jut picked up a 68 charger this past week. In fact I have just started cleaning out the inside of car.Car sat for 10+ years in central Georgia with the drivers vent window gone and the rear window busted out.  It happens to be a gold/white interior 318 car. A/c, power steering ,auto with console that has a funny looking gauge bolted and rubber hose plumbed to it, all mounted at the front of the console. this is the first rally clustered car that has a complete dash(missing radio only). to bad its  missing build sheet and the fender tag. Do the 68s have body #s that match the dash tag? this is my first 68, have had a few 70s, got a 69 but it is in alot of pieces.

So for the month of April I went to NewCastle Ok. and picked up a 74 Satellite that turned out to be a 74 RR coupe 400 4bbl car,RM21P code car, that has a 440 cast crank engine, trans and dual exhaust with the magnum manifolds on it,8&3/4 with rear swaybar, but no suregrip.

Also for the month of April I got this "68 Love Project", the car was bought 3 weeks before the next local middle Georgia car show @ Atlanta Motor Speedway, which is in Hampton Ga. I couldn't Barter down the price any with the previous owner being a member of the Alt Mopar club. So I paid Him what He wanted for it. 800$ its got alot of rust on it but I will replace it with repo new metal from "AMD". here are a few of the first photos of this my latest heart throbe. Nothing like a gold charger. except a rusty one.LOL

time to go get the vacuum going and bolt those 68 seats in I have been saving.Have a great Day everyone. Stephen
