My dad's friend had a silver with black striped 71 R/S Z28 and then my dad had a blue 71 RS Z28

I just remembered something. My dad's 71 R/S Z28 was exactly like his friends! My dads was painted blue when he sold it though. Heres of picture of what the cars looked like (picture I got from google) :2thumbs:

Joshua, the guy lives at the end of a dirt road back behind the Napa store. same guy? and thanks.

Sounds like the guy...did he have an Austrailian accent???? And a bunch of Mopars in the yard??? ;D
I looked at a '68 Charger he had a few years ago, back then he had a few Superbees, a Dart GTS and a '70 Challenger R/T.....and some '57 Fords.....not much in Chevys....

Awesome hood compared to what previous owner installed. Remember, you don't wanna leave that hood un-painted to long, the *E* coat isn't very strong vs. the Seattle rains. Coming along great!  :2thumbs:

The E coat is very thin. The factory puts in on there about 2 mills thick is all. It will deteriorate/rust in time due to rain and sun down to the metal. Depending on what color your painting the car, basic black enamel would good enough for now two coats min. to spray it at least for protection against weather for driving anytime. Any body shop should be able to spray it for you unless you can do it yourself. Body shop est. my guess about $250.00 do it yourself about the same due to material coats but you'll have left over also. 1 qt. of paint and reducer/hardener as well.

Wow, great resto thread.  I didn't think GM cars were allowed on the site?  Everytime I credit one for being a good car I get slammed :icon_smile_wink:.  Fantastic pictures, I love the door hinge pictures and info, must of doubled the time to do the job takeing all those pictures.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
