My 68 had a console with auto when I got her a couple of years ago. The steering column had been hacked up too. Is the bracket at the bottom of the first picture from a buddy seat? and does the shifter setup look like it wasn't there from the factory? Any help would be much appreciated.

That rear bracket is for a buddy seat.
I think someone added the floor shifter.By the looks of it there are no console mounting brackets.

And the transmission hump is not correct for a factory auto/console car. Should have a raise area where the linkage goes through the floor.

Here is a picture of a unmodified column shift buddy seat transmission hump.

Mine was buddy seat column shift and I'm trying to convert it to console floor shift.
I wish someone would have converted it to console before me, it's a pain it the butt!  :-[

My 69 has a buddy seat and column shift but I plan on keeping it like that.
