we've had three of these here in the last 10 days and i read there are several more recently in the LA area...

reading up on them it seems the events have climbed recently, i just wonder if the current economic situation isn't prompting folks to go off... remember, unless someone is actually killed, seldom will car to car shootings make the news...

I don't know whether or not it's related to the economy, what it IS though, is SAD. It's sad that some people can be so caught up in themselves & have absolutely no problem with pulling the trigger on someone they don't even know, over something so stupid...quite possibly changing their lives forever, or just plain ending their lives right then & there. It's sad & disgusting.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Maybe its a new gang thing.

Kill some poor random person on the freeway to get in.

People suck.

we had some random freeway shooting down here in San Diego too recently.....I think it was three also.....maybe it is gang that is traveling Cali.    Sorry that is wrong, but it is kinda fishy that there would be three freeway shooting in three different cities here in Cali so close together.

All this talk about pulling out of Iraq, 1/2 of the cities in America are just as bad to live it for the most part.  More Americans are killed in the city of Detroit per year than all of Iraq in two years.

not too long ago people had the right to shoot back in America,  now all you have is the right to die at someone elses hand.

This has been going on for years.  I remember in the 80's it was a big thing.

:ahum: The economy?

It is not weird to blame the economy.....people do weird things when they are faced with losing everything.  With the economy the way it is right now it is a wonder that there haven't been any jumpers off the Coronado-Bay Bridge.  One of the last ones jumped because he lost his job and didn't know how to go home and face his wife and kids.  When you are losing everything your head might not be straight.  Although I do not think these particular shooting have to do with the economy.

Regardless of someone's financial status I'd say their head's obviously not screwed on right if they're willing to go and shoot people sitting on the freeway. If a poor economy is any excuse to start killing people those people are fubar to begin with.

I would tend to agree but it actually happens more than you think. I guess unless your really in one of these peoples shoes you never know. Its easy to say you've been there but to what real extreme.  Most people have some kind of 2nd skill they may be able to fall back on but theres some that don't. I guess the thought of seeing your family and young kids starve might have something to do with your emotions. I'm not condoning it.

No way can some guy jump because he lost his job and he doesnt want to face his wife and kids.  WTF?  IF you are living in a box and you still have your wife and kids with you thats better than nothing at all isnt it?   :rotz:

Like I said, it seems to happen alot. I dont know what its like and i dont ever want to be there. Getting by is something people take for granted sometimes, especially in this day and age.

If its related to the econ, then why is Mexico not killing everyone in mass?  This is classic good vs evil.  Jumping from a bridge is one thing, taking a gun and killing someone you dont know or have never met is 100% something else.  Its because their are bad people and good people and the two will never mix.  This stuff has gone on from when time started on this planet.  Its nothing new.  People killing other people for no reason existed long before their ever was an economy.  For this very reason Colt gave us the 6 shooter in the old west. People fled Nazi Germany, People made boats to sail to new worlds to escape it.

People killing people has noting to do with ones financial position.

well I see this is going off on a tangent...
It's not a funny subject, I'm just wondering if anyone else noticed this rash of freeway shootings as I did. the media hasn't (or didn't) seem to be making a the connection, a few of these have been solved they caught one SOB in Vegas a couple days ago,..
but there isn't allot of infomation about most of the others.
as far as "economics" being the reason that's maybe to specific a theory,.. mulling it over i suspect "disenfranchisement" maybe a more plausible reason. Folks with little to lose tend to want to make their own rules.
But in any case it's a horrible trend I saw in the news, someone mentioned gang initiation and I  also read the authorities thought a certain amount of copycat factor may be involved...  :shruggy:
