Ok driving around and guys pulls up and I have no tail lights. Get to the house and sure enough, nada. If I pull the switch the headlights come on, turn and brake lights work fine. Pulled the connector at the switch and had power there. Connect the swithc and still no park lights. If I jumper I get the park lights. Sounds like the switch right? I had an extra laying around tried it and go the same, headlights and no park lights. Go and get a brand new third switch? Sockett in connector going maybe?

I assume you checked the fuse ?

Do you have dash ilumination ?
Glove box light ?

lightning system does have two fuses on the line, one before switch to parking lights, glove box ( also extras equipment options with constant source ) and dash/dimmer net and another one after switch to the dash/dimmer net lights ONLY. Both are on fuse box... first is on battery side of fuse box( I think the second one from bottom ) and the other one is the top one ( don't remember which side ).

Lost the dash lights too. That's happened before, I'll hit a bump and they'll come back eventually. As forthe fuses I checked all the fuses. They're all good. Besides if I jumper at the connector to the light switch I just bypass the switch. If the light work then the fuse is good. I'll try getting another switch today and see what happens.

check your ground on your taillights?  could be corroded or dirty.

Ok, got the new switch and the problem is still there. Can't be the taillight ground because all the lights will work when I install a jumper on the headlight switch connector(hot post B1) to the different sockets on the plug. Dash lights work this time too. Seems I found the socket on the connector for that. So I take the new switch and start ohming out pin to pin. All open when switch is in, different ones closing when the switch goes to park then drive. So the switch is working. Still when it's connected all I can get to work is the headlights. The female socket on the connector itself? It can't be anything out side of the switch connector area since they all work w/jumper.

....any ideas?

check the fuse box sulfated terminals...  check on back of fuse box for heated and sulfated wires.

BTW, sometimes fuse blows OR JUST LOOSE on the unable to see area ( down the metallic cup section of fuse ), change it anyway to try another posibility.

myk

Well, the "rheostat dimming" can cause dash lights to fail as it deteriorates over time.  My dash lights only work in certain positions of the adjusting wheel-mainly full bright, lol...
