What in the heck? The new Challenger I'll admit does look good, but man on may  :brickwall:  :brickwall:  :brickwall:  :brickwall:  :brickwall:  :brickwall:

You don't slap a Challenger as a tribute to a racing history in nascar. If your going to use a Challenger to be a tribute to some racing, how about Drag Racing, or even Trans Am Racing. BUT NOT GRAND NATIONAL RACING.

charger_mike75

probably wouldn't sell very well here and that's why it's available in canada   :scratchchin:

Magnumcharger

Can't rightly say why they'd go and do a foolish thing like that.
Count your blessings though, it could have been another "decal" customizing of that four-door abomination.

Personally I'd prefer a decall on the 4 door charger as a 500 over the putting a 500 decal on a challenger and calling it a tribute. I mean heck I can put a 500 stripe on my kids bicycle, but that doesn't make it one.

Magnumcharger

Yes, yes it does....unless it's a "Mustang" bike. Whereupon you'd have to have "Boss" stripes on it.

Well since the kids bike is already HEMI ORANGE, as he requested it be painted, I'll slap some HEMI badges on the frame so he can go faster.

Another example of how marketing really doesn't get it when it comes to the enthusiast market.

That's exactly right. I thought those days were over when the Germans left...but then I realized that they still own 20% of Chrysler. And the other 80% is owned by a bunch of money-grubbing bastards.

Who knows?  Maybe the research was headed up by that same woman who took surveys in shopping malls and determined that since Charger got the most votes for being recognized as a Dodge vehicle it made good sense to call the new family car replacement for the Intrepid a Charger.

Wouldn't be ironic if she was 'accidentally' run over...by a Charger? he he he

Chrysler Canada had to somehow justify the $ 46995.00 price tag versus the american $ 40095.00
It's an extra 6000.00 for a chrome "500" badge .  Bit of a rip there.
There are now only 500 Canadian cars.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, but it looks like it will be $2,000 for the 500 package, not $6,000. Granted its $6,000 over the US listed price, but only $2,000 over the listed Candian price in the letter.

daytonalo

Besides all that crap , because the US dollar isn't worth the paper it is printed on , wouldn't it make sense for someone who lives in Canada to give the money to a buddy who lives in US to  buy a Challenger , then sell it to the  guy who financed it for much less on paper to avoid paying too high of tax ?? I always find a loophole

sick dawg

Good idea! Now if anybody on the other side of the line wants to pay for one,I'll buy it and sell it to them for their savings. Only one catch. I get to test drive it for at least a month for my trouble. :yesnod:
