A buddy of mine has helped restore Both remaining Gurney AAR Cudas and are currently working on the SECOND of the two Sam Posey Challengers.  The first one WAS the infamous car with the acid dipped roof, you can STILL see where it was replaced.

They are also building a Cobra and restoring a nice LOW mileage Petty Blue Superbird. It was stolen and recovered in the 80s and some pieces were stolen. IT was repainted and "restored" then, but it is getting done RIGHT this time.

The Driver is Gary Savage, Swede Savage's son. I LOVE the Laguna Seca video when he hits the High speed straight, he EATS the Mustang's LUNCH!!  NEXT another Stang!!!!!

There are several videos of the car including Goodwood and Daytona .

Man, that looks like more fun than a guy should be allowed to have. :icon_smile_cool:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

They have ALREADY DONE the car that the roof was replaced on. THAT is the car that runs at vintage races today. The other car iIS Currently under restoration, as far as a car destroyed, there may have been a 3rd car, Not sure, I will ask Dave.

As tight as Laguna Seca is, I imagine he was probably a little reluctant to hurt a one of a kind piece of History worth north of a quarter million bucks, as soon as he had plenty of room, he ate his lunch for him.  The Mustangs were in the preferred groove, which meant Gary had to pick a good place where he had room to pass. Anytime you take a line that ISN'T the preferred line, you can get in trouble in a hurry.

Just being careful. Like Dave said about the video, a cat NEVER kills a mouse right away! He plays with it first.  ;)
