My soon to be driver has been sitting for about 16 years. I plan to get all new harware for breaks and new rotors but I'd like to know if anyone has actually rebuilt them. I see there is a kit on Rock Auto. But this is going to be my driver so I want to make sure it stops!!

Thanks!

What kind of calipers do you have?  What is the year of your charger?

The typical A body disk conversion can use $15 rebuilt calipers from any parts store.    At that price it's not worth bothering doing it yourself.

Sorry forgot the details. It's a 1973 Charger, remans. are about $50 with a $20 core. But I'm uneasy about buying a Chinese built piece of crap.

Ghoste

Have you confirmed the remans are from China?

MNMopar

No but isn't just about everything from China now? I don't know for sure I have not seen the actual real deal of what you get when you buy the remanufactured. But then again I don't think anything is wrong with the ones I have other than sitting for 16 years in a corn field.

Funny as it sounds but most rebuildable things I have found are rebuilt by A1 Cardone anymore which is based out of the USA

That's what I was thinking too Brian.  All new manufacturing is pretty much coming from China but most of the reman product I've seen has come from the US and maybe 1/3 from Mexico.  But if there's a workforce willing to work for peanuts, somone is going to take advantage of it sooner or later.

If you get remans from Raybestos, they will be from China.  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

Hey man,

I have a pair of A1 Cardone '73 Charger calipers brand new with brand new pads and bushings included, never been used, only mounted, but won't work on my '68 . . . I'll sell the pair of calipers and the set of pads to you for $55 plus shipping. PM me if you're interested. I also have the '73 Charger brake lines brand new but a little gouged up on the metal block from me finding out they hit on my '68, would be just fine though that I'll include for another $20.
