Charlton Heston died overnight.... :'(

Just another hero ... as a kid I watched many of his movies on t.v.

He seemed like a man's man.

Rest in peace...

So Sad.

He was a great man.

Loved almost all the movies he ever performed in.

RIP Charles

So who is going to do all the commercials for the NRA now?

Love the planet of the Apes movies. And anyone care to take a guess on how many times TBS is going to air movies to tribute his life?

Heston hadn't done any NRA stuff for a while anyway. Maybe Tom Selleck or Ted Nugent will step up to the plate. I can already sense Rosie's BP going up as I type this.

I liked Heston , not so much for his movies  , but for being a man standing up for his rights and supporting the NRA . I hope Ted Nugent steps in for the NRA now .

Many people forget he was one of the frist hollywood actors to stand up for civil rights in the late 50's and 60's.  He was a great God fearing man and was a part of what was and is good in America.

God bless him.  RIP.

I thought he died years ago and was stuffed !!! Kida like weekend @Bernies !

I think the most amazing thing is that he was married to the same woman for 64 years...

Incredible for a hollywood legend to stay married to his college sweetheart until the day he died.

Yep that is like a legend all by it self :icon_smile_big:   But seriously he in my mind did very well acting in the biblical show "the ten commandments"......

Heston was one of a kind.

I think his style of movie is just now becoming popular again.  Will Smith's "I am Legend" and Clive Owen's "Children of Men" roles both seem like they could have easily been Charleton Heston roles from about 1971.

And I'm kind of surprised the famous "Ten Commandments" movie hasn't been remade lately.  Especially after "Passion of the Christ" made cublic money despite being very controversial & too rough for a lot of the potential audience.

daytonalo

Come on , it's a no-brainer why 10 comm has not been redone !!! for todays audience there is not enough killings, car jacking , raping or just plain violence !!!!!!!!
