Hi!

I found an ad about this car online. Its located not far from where I live.

Does any of you guru's know anything about this kind of car? I have never seen a -75 charger before..

How much would you pay for a car like this?

You just solved a mystery for me. I never realized that they used a shifter that looked like a 70 model  shifter in that late of a model car. I bought one on ebay for my convertible a few years only to find out that it was a lot taller than a 70. I'm using it in my 73 right now.
I like the interior on that car. Except for the fact that it probably has a lean burn system, it might make a nice driver. Of course you could get rid of the lean burn system (if it has it) as long as you don't live in california. Just my 2 cents.
As for value...anything complete and drivable that looks nice would be worth $2500 or more. Maybe more in some areas and maybe less in some areas.

My 2003 NADA book which is a little out of date, lists an average value of $4275 for an Se and $4750 for a hardtop. You would think that the SE would be higher...go figure.

Acording to the seller it needs a little job, but nothing serious..

The asking price is under 2000$..

What is a lean burnt system? Is it like a catalysator?

Got a couple more pics of the interior:

that would be a cool daily driver,id guess a value in the 3 range,as long as the body is decent, and it runs okay.parts are scarce,so be careful of rust-and i second the ditching of the lean burn-its a pain in the ass,its the semi computer controlled ignition, and carb combo used during the 70s to attempt and get lesser emissions.rarle works properly, and your life will be made simpler by switching to normal electronic ignitio, and a decent 4 barrel carb and intake.if you dont buy it and you are close by let me know,i could be a player!

never mind, i didnt realize your were across the big pond!! :icon_smile_big:

Hehe! A little far away, yes..

Thanks for explaining the lean burnt thing.

But how is the engine in these cars? I realise that the effect went down hill after the sixties, but do you know how many horses was under these hoods?

That's right. Not to mention how many 75 Chargers in the EU. I think it's still a neat car.

Hey twilt,
How ironic, I used to say the same thing about 3rd gen chargers.
Now I own one...my buddies thought I had gone insane. lol

A nice car of that era in good shape would be about 1500$ tops and more like 1000$ or less.  In 75 Mopar came out with the Cordoba Body style and then put every name under the sun on the platform with different changes per brand.  The lean burn deal was basically crap. Carb and timing with a primitive computer so to speak. You would be better off to get a regualr carb and distributor/electronic igntion and go that route.

Here is a Dodge version. This car was a cremem puff deluxe. 100000 miles. Clean inside and out had a tad bit of rust on the rear. It went for 850$ at auction a while back.

There's those mud flaps again. I noticed at the nats that a lot of cars, I mean really nice looking cars had those god awful looking mud flaps.
You certainly don't see cars around here in the south with those things. We would be laughed right out of the car shows here if we had mud flaps on our musclecars.  I can understand if you lived on a gravel road or something, but for god's sake take the damn things off when you get to the car show. :icon_smile_big:

Reidar, newest my book goes to is 1973 and the 340 was still around so this is more than likely a 2 barrel 360. Was rated at 170 HP. But, in the 70's Chysler was rating the engine driffently, than the 60's. Engine was rated with all the support gear like Alt, P/S pump etc.

They also lower the HP rating to get the insurances compamys off there backs as well.

Hi all! I went up and looked at the car yesterday. It needs some job, but fired right up and sounded NICE!
It had a regular intake and a carb. It had been sitting for many years, and were dirty and covered with leafs, but with a good wash and rub it will look good.

So I made the guy an offer, but he wouldnt bite.. After a while of talking about american cars, he suddently turns around and says "OK you can have it!" :D

Now im the proud owner of the only -75 charger in my area! Never seen another one here in Norway.

Im thinking of "Pimping" it up! Fix it up and paint it black with ghostflames and dark windows. And offcourse bling-bling rims! ;)

By the way.. Does anyone know a site where i can decode the vin-number?
