My wife was in a accident yesterday (she is okay, but the car is not) and I went to get items out of the car.   In a storage lot behind the towing area , there was this E body car.   I took a couple of pics, but I could not get any closer.   Can anyone tell what year it is or anything about what it might have?   I have no idea about these cars, and was just curious.

73 or 74 cuda?

:iagree: Maybe even a '72 but it's definitely a 'Cuda and defintiely not a '70 or '71.

I am pretty sure the '72 did not have the rubber bumper pads so it is probably a '73 or '74.

If I remember correctly, that color scheme was only available in 73.

It looks like a 74 to me with the large bumper gaurds.  Here is a pic of of a 74 I sold last year.

In 74 - yes - even had the under hood release button.

It has features from both 72 and 73-4's.

Hood paint is from 72, hubcaps look like they are off a 72, 73 maybe. It does not appear to have bumper fillers from 73-4 even though it has the 73-4 bumper guards.

I'm no expert but I spent a lot of time looking at 72-74 'Cuda's over the last 8 months. Based on that picture I would have to see the fender tag.

It is either a 73 or 74.   There weren't alot of differences in the two years but if you could of seen the interior, that would of told the story.   Looks like a decent project for someone . . .wonder if it will be going to auction??
Tomorrow is promised to NOBODY . . . .

How do you know it's not 74?

If you can somehow get a look at the VIN tag, that will tell you for sure.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

those hubcaps. I got the same pair of a 73 in that color.I've seen 74's with different caps.I may be wrong.

If we could see the seat belts then we would be able to rule out '74. The best guess I have is it's a '72 with a '74 front bumper. You can tell the paint is '72 only and the rear bumper is correct for '72 but why would someone change the front bumper to the later year.
Maybe a safety freak??
Maybe he had a '74 bumper laying around and the original bumper got tweaked. Looking closely at the front bumper you can tell the early bumper brackets are on it because the chrome part is not sticking a foot in front of the car

If you look over the front wheelwell the red paint is comming off revealing Torred which of course is an orange shade and they made alot of Torred 'CUDAs in 1972. Also, Torred was off the regular order list in '73 and '74 so I'm saying '72
