I currently have a set of brand new 17" x 9" rims and 17" x 8" front rims.....my buddy donated them to me for my car from his 2004 Mustang he never used them...I owe him a few beers now.............has anyone mounted this size wheel and if so what size tires did they buy.........I see by the charts they reccomend 225/55/17......just want to know if anyone has done anything different?
My car is a 71 R/t....
Thanks!

Usually the backspacing on newer mustang rims is around 5.5 inches. You will probably need to run spacers. But it can be done.

Thanks...yes i figure I may need 1/4" spacers on the rear end......any idea what a good tire size would be?

i run 255/50-17 on the back and 235/40-17 on the front.  you can go a lot bigger on the back if you want, but i wanted to keep them close in size.
