At a performance driving school, I was told that about 10 percent of the Viper accidents happen on the way home from the dealership and about 90 percent of the Vipers totaled are in first or second gear at the time of impact.  It's an interesting statistic if it's true.

About two hours later another member of the class slammed a Viper into a concrete barrier wiping out the hood and driver's side.  Lots of torque!
