Any Street Bike Riders Out There? Pic's of My New Bike!

I had to share this with the Street Bike Members who have gave me advice on bikes when I started looking for a different one.
I think I did good on this one. 01' Shadow Sabre 1100, 4,500 miles, I owner bike,  I paid $4000 on Criagslist.
I have been looking for a while and for my budget I think I did OK.
Man, I really like this bike. My last one was a Rat Bike , 81' Yamaha Seca 750. It got the job done but I wanted something for long rides, I put on about 4,000 miles a year so to me this is like having a new bike.

The owner even trailered it home for me, I was going to ride it home but the roads are still full of salt & snow here in NE,Ohio.

Looks good,  Been thinking about a bike for myself this summer. I had a CBR600 to use for a summer, my bud moved to St.Louis and left me the bike to  watch. He needed some money and I did not need something like that, so I sold it for him.

My last bike was a sport bike  and it was very uncomfortable on long trips. I rode my pal's 02' Sabre for a 400 mile trip, which is not that long & I felt just fine.
I think you would be more uncomfortable on the sport bike?

My last bike was a sport bike  and it was very uncomfortable on long trips. I rode my pal's 02' Sabre for a 400 mile trip, which is not that long & I felt just fine.
I think you would be more uncomfortable on the sport bike?

Wasn't intended to be anything other than a to each his own comment. Note the  Sorry about that.

I find the sport bikes much more comfortable as I end up leaning into the wind blast and the tank. I am 6'2" so I catch a good bit and it lifts the weight off my wrists and arse. Sport bikes being comfortable is a loaded statement - I am not talking about the Gixers/Ducati's/etc where you arse is higher than your hands. There are quite a few sport/touring bikes out there that are remarkably comfortable. Even the stock CBRs are really comfy. But they are not really built for racing either. The VFR is designed to be a touring/sport bike... where the RC51 is designed to race. Plus bikes require a bit more tuning and modification to fit a particular individual. Cars have more room for stock "adjustments"

I am sure a windshield would solve a lot of the issues I have with the rolling couches.    But its just not for me.

I noticed you mention the previous ride that was uncomfortable was an 81... You should really try a sport bike from the mid 90s on. I had an 86 VF500 and while a very fun and capable bike (tad small for me though) it was uncomfortable as well. The newer rides are light years ahead of the 80s in comfort and ride. There is just no way to compare.

Here are a few pics of the 2001 Sportster I put together. I love riding but the bike was to uncomfortable so I let it go. My next one will be a cruiser, a little more comfy. Before and after pics. My cousin painted it, I got the tank from Jireh cycles as well as all the chrome. Prices are about 75% less than Harley.

Good looking ride you got there. I've started riding mine back and forth to work to a new job I started about 4 months ago(in Richmond, CA). I go about 55 mi. each way so it saves me in gas plus a bridge toll of $4.00 and I can use the car pool lane . Here's  pic of it. It looks a little different with the windshield,saddlebags, drivers backrest. Oh yeah it's a 2001 Suzuki VL 1500.

That ain't right.  My buddy bought one of those new, nice bike.  I sold my snowmobile and bike to help fund the charger ( money pit ) restoration.  I had a classic 74 Honda 550/4 original paint etc.  Not no more.

I like Shadow's.   Nice bike.   Here is my 1999 Honda Valkyrie.  6 cylinder.  Lots of power.  Sounds very cool with semi loud mufflers.

I HIGHLY recommend getting a headlight modulator.  I will not ride without one.  It flashes your headlight during the day time.  Amazing how drivers see me now and don't pull out in front of me any more.

This is my latest bike, first Harley. The pic is from last fall. I put a little more chrome on it since this pic was taken.  I picked up a lot of used chrome parts on Ebay. Much better prices.

I know a guy who did that ride religiously every year...then the last three years he went, he hit something every trip. If I recall, it went...deer, then cow, then moose. He stopped doing that ride after the moose, figured the next ride might be his last at that rate.

It's a 93. I have had all metric bikes till now. I recently sold my Vmax. I found myself getting way to aggressive on that thing.  My reaction time is not what it used to be. I had a tendency to stay on the throttle way too long. That is not a concern with the Harley, Longer on the throttle just sounds way cool! I hope you like your Shadow. Street cruiser are laid back and relaxing.

I think my next bike might be a Busa though.

Man, the batteries in my camera are dead and I can't find a good picture of my bike to scan.  Real pretty FLSTN, Nostalgia special.
As for the wife, if she put her foot down on the bike. No wonder! She needs to put her tail down on your bike. After a nice long ride out in the country with the wife; that's all she wants to do when she gets off my bike.  Yes have sex! I like to think knocking it down a gear and running the tach up a bit for a few blocks before we get home has something to do with it.

That's the one 1969chargerrtse. I passed on the CBX back in 1980 when I bought my first CB750F and have regretted it since. Sooner or later I will have one parked in the garage next to the Charger. When you sit on one and look down you see a cylinder on each side of the tank. AWESOME! I have been sniped on eBay more than I care to admit. I am looking for a black (what else?) 1980 model with low (approximately 15k) miles wearing 95% of its original components. Any leads out there? Here is the beast in question.
