I took a couple pics after I got it out of the car and there are a bunch of people wanting to see what a 10k engine looked like (Mainly here, but I though you guys would like to take a look  )  .
It was a real pain in the ass getting it outof the Suburban. Had to pull the cherry picker through the wet grass around the charger since it blocked everything else in . then I pulled the pciker back onto the drive way and off it to get to the car. Some how I managed to get the engine out with out any harm to it or the car.

Then I rolled the pciker up to the begining of the driveway and had to stop there since 2 inch step to get back on the driveway and that motor weighs too much to push the picker and enigne over it. So I lowered the motor down on the drive way and made sure it sat steady so it wouldnt fall over . then i moved the picker around and lifted it up on the drive way and lifted the motor up once more.

now the hard part. I had to figure out a way to get the picker and motor in front of the 69 ( 69 and 70 are parked side by side and there wasnt enough room to navigate the pciker between them. What I ended up doing was rolling the 69 ( getting the 446) down the driveway far enough back so i could roll the picker between the 69 and 70 . well rolling the car back was the easy part but i did come to a problem . Since I dont have the driveshaft/tranny in so without thinking I tried to set the E-brake yet the car was still rolling back . So I ended up calling a friend a couple blocks away and had him come ovver so he could slide the tire stops in so the car wouldnt roll down the driveway into the neighbors mailbox. From here the rest was pretty easy rolling the pciker to the front of the driveway and moving the charger back up.

after awhile my best friend drove up to see what my motor looked like since I was going to stop by his work on the way home but didnt since the motor wasnt fastened sown very stable.   All he could say was "G&d  Damn "  and that he didnt think his 74 nova  383 , 400 hp  could beat my engine  :METAL:  :drive:  .  Life is good im finally glad shes home hopefully in a little less than a month she'll be breathing new life.

Yeah it was pretty hard getting her back home. the shop was about 45 mins or so away and the motor was only standing up strait by two ropes that were tied down to the floor . Ended up driving really slow and even then trying my best to break and accelerate slow the motor would slide back and forth cause a few scratches on the trim on the rear doors of the suburban  :-\

Don't wanted to bad mouth a company but if it say Hughes send it back ASP! See if you can PM DFS68, wont go into any great deatils but they did his heads 2 times, junk and INDY fixed them, cam wore out with in 3 miles, junk, and wont go into there POS timing chain. Oh the roller rockers, well I will let DFS fill you in.

DFS was way nicer than I would have been.

By the way Nick, that was fast as well.

Ken, my 440 is a POS as well so good luck.

 904s are crap,.. yuuch..  >:(
nice motor, seems you should be getting alot more then 500 H.P. What's the Torque though?.. that's a lotta dough not to have it Dynoed..

how do you like that tci trans.
My Uncle had a TCI behind his MP 360/380 crate in his '68. It didn't last long. He since has gotten a B&M and hasn't had a single problem.

69bananabeast

I'll prolly have it dynoed  some time in the future . For now I think I might use one of those things you plug into the cigarette lighter and sse what it'll give me . An article hot rod did on them said they were really accurate. I did a desktop dyno on it and it came out to 525 HP  , and 550 hp with Exhaust cutouts . I think the torque was like 560 lbs or somewhere around there

Nice build Beast ! Should be very streetable and make lots of power. In the "real world" i'd say 480-500hp is about right for that combo with well over 500ftlbs of torque. Should have no problems boiling the hides. The Hughes converters are descent from what i've heard and that one is well matched to the cam.   :icon_smile_wink: The Hughes that Cudaken was referring to is a different company that does engines, heads, cams etc...

originally I had tried to get the bulldog heads but they weren't currently available with long waiting list so I opted to go with Indy since they are suppose to be competition

Very nice.  I ran a TCI 727, not the greatest but that is my experience. Just like buying a car, one person will say its the cats a$$ and anotehr will say it isn't worth it's weight in $hit. Hopefully you have the cats a$$.

Glad to hear it is not the same company.

Have you started to drop it in? Saw you where looking for support parts on the other posting you made.

Be carfull with that kind of power as well. You have went from class A Ball Team to the Show. With that kind of power sh-t happen fast. You will all so break parts you have never heard of. ;)

Its a pretty big move , but I think im up for it. The only way you learn to fix something is by breaking it first  :yesnod: . besides back in the day my uncle had a 67 Hemi coronet and got 600 HP out of that beast and he was only 17 ,   im only a couple years older than that so im lagging behind  :D .  yeah im talkin to RD about a tranny dipstick an tube. I dont want to drop her in without it since it would create even more work for the future. Besides that all thats left is to shorten driveshaft, get a waterpump housing, intake swap, and of course hoses. after everything is running right im goingto get 3'' X pipe and hook up the exhaust cutouts.  after all thats done I will be saving for Disc Brakes to stop all that power.
