Well as some of you know I'm in Park City, Utah right now. Yesterday, my girlfriend and I were at the bus stop when she asked me what kind of car it was coming down the road. I looked up, and noticed a sharp tint of red in the midst of the pale SUV's and snow. It couldn't be, could it? It was! A beautiful '70 Charger made the turn slowly and crept into the parking lot nearby. Not sure if it had disappeared further down the road or parked, we climbed up the snow embankment separating us from the shopping center and there it was! The first Charger I had ever seen in the wild, besides my own! Lucky for me my girlfriend is really into photography, so I grabbed her camera and snapped a few shots. I simply stood there in awe for a good 10 minutes looking it over, and then for another 10 posted up waiting for the owner to come back to it. It sounds silly, but it was seriously amazing seeing how beautiful these things are out on the road, especially in this condition. It was so nice I was pretty surprised to find it out and about. Finally the owner came out of a store, accompanied with a buddy, and shot the shit with me for a bit; they seemed to be in a hurry. He gave me the rundown, fresh restoration, NOT an R/T, but had a hot 440 with 727, TTI's, Dana 60 with 4:10's, disc brakes both front and rear, etc. Said that they were going to take it to Vegas. I asked if he was on the forums and he said no, but did mention the '70 Charger Registry. Anyways, just thought I'd share! Anyone else know the car?

Thats a beautiful car for sure!! ..... and a fresh looking restoration.  I would get freaked out by driving it around in the presence of snow and salt, but hey, he's having fun with it!

Thanks for posting.

Great car! If it were mine...I don't know about driving it in the salt and snow. :drool5:

Yeah, it definitely was a good looking car. Fitz, good call and sorry about that! I was in a hurry last night and meant to say it wasn't an R/T, but had blah blah blah. Fixed now. Really I liked the fact that he totally worked the car over but didn't slap R/T badges on it like many cars. :2thumbs:

i see he took up two parking spaces to protect his beauty... good move.

Nope, that's a new one on me. Those plates are brand new this year, so he either just finished his resto, or just bought it from somewhere.

Good lookin' car, and I agree, it's refreshing to see one that nice that's not made into an R/T clone.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Not to sure if thats a good move, really upsets some people ( scratchhhhh ).  I always just park far away form the action at an end spot, under a tree if possible.  I hate what the sun does to paint and vinyl.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I know the car. Its from here in Alaska. He and his friend restored it to the condition you see now. The grille along was $2500.00 to restore. Front fenders were about a grand a peace. If I remember correctly, he had almost 60 grand into the car before he shipped it out of here. I don't remember his name, and my photos of the car when it was here are gone, stolen, who knows, but his friend here owned the Alaska Clutch Rebuilders. He built a '70 GTX also that is now blue w/a 496 stroker motor as well. I believe it was an org. F8 green car as well. I bought a few parts from the guy at Clutch shop what owner of the charger had left over. Bumpers, misc. int. peices. Magnum 500 rims after market 15 x10.

That's cool that you know the car. What a small Mopar world it is sometimes, huh? :icon_smile_cool:

Agreed, especially considering that I'm in the middle of a transaction with dads_69! Even smaller!

Jackson, did you see the int. dash? It has a tic toc tach, but its like flipped, the clock is on the outer part vs. recessed w/tach on outside. Supposedly its rare. Anyone else have an idea if its true or just a certain year Dodge changed that set up? Any magazines show up yet Jackson?

Hey man, I got a quick look at the interior but honestly didn't look close enough to tell, or at the tach at all. All I noticed was the CD player :shruggy: No clue on the magazines as I won't be home until around midnight tomorrow but we'll see then! :2thumbs:

Man, Utah must be the place for me! Today walking to the airport a black, what looked to me like a '71 drove right past me! It was sitting on some slotted mags and sounded real nice. . . had the R/T tail lights too! :2thumbs:
