Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

The Teton Dam flood.   I have been to that site a few times. It is very interesting. Its amazing the power that the water had. There are still buildings that have water lines on them. For as much area as was flooded. There where only 3 deaths. The dam wasn't even full when it broke. They have since cut away the side that didn't break to see if they could find the flaw. My Great Grandfather new it was going to fail as they were building it. First off. The overflow is way to high. It was a big design flaw. Its neat to walk around behind the dam and see the intake for the hydro generators. There was allot of work done for nothing. The dam break broke bridges in Idaho Falls which is 60+ miles away. The water pretty much followed the snake river clear down. It is a real cool story.   My HEMI road runner was a Teton Flood victim. My Grandpa has a book with a whole bunch of pics in it. There is a pic of a 69 GTO sitting in a tree. The funny thing is, is I know who owns the very car and it still looks the same. It's just sitting in a field.  I will see if I can find some pics.
The flood happened in 1976.

Cody, we are waiting. :D :D :D :D

Hey, C_stripes, we talked about that dam failure in one of my classes at school. Saw a show about it too. Lets see that GTO in a tree!

C_stripes

I will have to borrow the book from my Grandpa. I think its funny. The History channel story said it killed eleven people. It was only three. A tractor driver trying to fill the hole, a fisherman down stream and another guy that they say it was probably a heart attack. If you are ever in the area, it is neat to go see. To go into the back side, you actualey drive down the boat ramp and then it converts to a dirt road. It's neat. There is a whole camp ground with fish dock and everything a ways back. There's not water for hundreds of feet and its about 150+ feet below. It's sad. What were you studying the reason they were showing that?

They weren't kidding when they said it was some of the most beautiful land in the country. South Eastern Idaho is Beautiful. I love it there. I miss living in Idaho. The Tetons are so awesome. Pics don't do them justice. Anyone that has ever seen them will tell you that.
