ecm ignition box,how to test?

how can you tell if the ecm is shot?i have a test light,but no ohm meter.my car was running strong,then developed a high end miss,now wont start! i havent done anything yet other than swap balast resistors,but i suspect the box,any other ideas?

if it is electronic ignition. disconnect your distributor coil wire on the distributor side only. Turn your ignition key to run position. And then place the coil wire close to the manifold and spin the distributor if you see spark then you should be OK!!! That is how I tested mine.!!

well, i checked it all out,and i cant believe what i found! a tiny pin hole leak in the heater hose was pissing steam on the distributor cap,causing it to be just damp enough where it wouldnt fire! it only took me 8 beers to get it right!
