383 steel crankshafts without balancers?

I have two 383 cranks without the balancers, can balancers be re-created for these?

Runner

it should be an internally balanced crank so another balancer off of a 383 should work fine,  or an aftermarket nutral balance balancer would work.

There were some 383 cranks that were cast and these would be externally balanced.  Is the engine size cast into the counterweights anywhere with a little clock type of thing near it?

I never checked this.  I know these cranks are from 68 383s.  Thanks.

Two barrel, four barrel, part number?  I forget off the top of my head which ones had forged and which had cast cranks but if you do have a cast, you can get a balancer for it so no worries there.  Still though, you'll need to know.

i believe only 71 2 bbl motors got cast cranks.    i did pull a steel crank out of a 400 but it was in a 71 roadrunner that i parted out ( no title and in horrific shape) and the block had no vin number and no numbers on the id pad.i believe the block musta been a warrenty motor.    this pic should help

I was told all 68 383s came with the steel crankshaft.  I'll take a closer look and try to find that marking in the posted pic.  Thanks.

Summit sells a nice balancer that won't break the bank. It is also indexed 60* which helps when dialing in the timing curve. Assuming you have a steel crank (neutral balance) this is a good way to go :

They did, only '70 and '71 383 2-barrel automatics got cast cranks.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
