68' charger, 11 inch drum conversion?

I have a 68' charger 383 car that came with 10" drum brakes all the way around.  A friend of mine convinced me to upgrade to the 11" drums before purchasing all new brake shoes/hardware.  He said it would make a world of difference.  I went ahead and did this and was curious if anyone else has, and noticed a significant difference in stopping power?

I used the brake system from a 68 polara (if I recall) so they are not the 11X3inch fronts, they are the 11X2.75s and 11X2.5 in the back.  I needed to modify the front backing plate slightly by drilling a couple of the mounting holes bigger.  I was able to use the same spindles.  I looked for the RT brake system but could find a set anywhere...

Thanks

I went from 10in brakes to 11x3 front 11x2.5 rear about 28yrs ago. I loved it, it was a big difference.
I was able to get all of it off another charger parts car, so no modifications were needed. I had
manual brakes at first, then put a power booster on it. I never had any braking problems anymore.
But last year I put front Disc brakes on, I don't like the feel as much, the Disc brakes are a much
harder pedal, and some times I wonder if they are going to stop, but it is feeling better, some
of these pads take some time to break in.

You can't find new 11x3 front drums, it is a pain to find ok used ones
