Of course we all know VH is touring again with DLR. It must of started something cause, If you haven't noticed, a lot of the bands from back then are getting back together and putting out new albums. Check out some of the '80 & '90s bands coming out with new cds. They say what comes around, goes around. I guess it is time coming then again. I felt like a kid in the candy store hearing these :2thumbs:

Joe Satriani - I Just Wanna Rock (sounds really good and hard. Cd on my wish list.)

Def Leppard - Nine Lives (Songs From The Sparkle Lounge is the name of the cd coming april 29th)(feat. Tim McGraw and sounds like a good hard rocker, is on my cd wish list. Supposed to have a AC/DCish/Hysteria/High N Dry sounds to the cd.)

Cult - Dirty Little Rock Star (I got this song already, It rocks! Gotta get the cd)

Queensryche - Red Rain (sounds like they always have, might get this one.)

Foo Fighters - Long Road To Ruin

Black Crowes  - Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution

Click here and you can click the cd covers to hear clips of the songs of this Milwaukee radio station.

If anyone here has XM Radio and listens to channel 41 the Boneyard they have heard about the second annual Rock Lahoma concert with allot of the 80's bands there. Here is a link for more info. http://www.rockfeverfest.com. Last summer I saw Ratt and Poison in Bath Ny at an outdoor concert. It was a great time. It was just like the 80's only I was able to have a few beers legally this time around.

Stevie Ray Vaughan was my favorite back in the 80's, but I doubt he'll be making a comeback.  :'(

The Cult was good, but they seemed to change their style too much for me. I loved their first album the most & had went to see them at a small place in NYC back then. (The Ritz on 13th St. maybe?) A lot of the others just weren't to my liking. I really got into a lot of jazz & blues back then since I wasn't that much into all the rock music that was coming out. Went to see bands like Pat Metheny, Allan Holdsworth, Al DiMeola, David Sanborn, John Hammond, Johhny Clyde Copeland & others. I was also very happy that King Crimson reunited around 1980 & went to see them often.

When Def Leppard came out and said their new album was going to be a throwback to High N' Dry, I thought, I'd have to hear it to believe it.

Then I hear the first cut and friggin Tim McGraw is signing on it?

That's all I need to know. This isn't going to be another High N' Dry.

Nope. He died about 100 miles from me at Alpine Valley. I still remember hearing that on the radio the day after.

Did you listen to the clip of the song yet? You can't tell in the clip. But I did find a crappy copy that someone recorded off the radio, and down loaded it. The only part you hear Tim McGraw is the first few words of the song. The song it's self kicks ass! Sounds like it could of been on Hysteria to me.

Could have been Motley Crue's Carnival of Sins Tour 3 years ago. That was an excellent concert. Had not felt the energy of the people since the 80's. The place just went wild like back in the day!

The Eagles like to reunite once in a while when they feel like cashing in.

And Def Leppard never really broke up did they?

there's a good possibility I'll be attending this three day & night  show near my home at the Polo grounds in Golden Gate Park in august...
several dinosaurs there...

Radiohead, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Jack Johson, the fest has added Beck, Wilco, Broken Social Scene, Black Mountain, Devendra Banhart, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Bon Iver, Drive-By Truckers, Andrew Bird, M. Ward, Nellie McKay, Manu Chao, Regina Spektor, the Cool Kids, Two Gallants, the Coup, Steel Pulse, Lyrics Born, Cold War Kids, Café Tacuba, and both Little Brother and the Felice Brothers, who are apparently unrelated to each other.
The Jack Johnson fan in your life will be sated by appearances from Ben Harper, Widespread Panic, Primus and Galactic, while the Tom Petty contingent will get a boost from Steve "Higher Love" Winwood.

     Total Ticket Cost $ 233.25
Handling Charge $ 20.00
Shipping $ 10.00
Order Total $ 263.25

possible i'll park the R/V nearby...  :D

I'll pass on most of them...     I did buy the new Black Crowes.    It's got a definite twang.   It was recorded a few miles away in Woodstock.   I've been a fan for quite a while but they make it hard...
These guys could screw up a wet dream.  The last amphitheater tour kinda bombed and they fired Eddie and then Marc quit to stay sober.   A train wreck in slo-mo.    They're not the next Dead or Phish and never will be.    Gotta play the radio songs to keep fans coming to the show.

Black Betty:  1969 Charger R/T - X9 440 six pack, TKO600 5 speed, 3.73 Dana 60.

I can.  Their last few sucked balls.

Scorpions got a new one that's been out for a few months now.  It's pretty good.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

haven't heard the new queensryche, but when you say "like they always have" do you mean beginning through promised land?  Or do you mean since hear in the now?  They simply don't seem at all inspired since then (to me)

True St. Anger sucked some major ass, but from what I hear the new album is supposed to be more like the good old days. It will never be ...And Justice or the like, but it cant be much worse than the last one.

Hmm... I didn't know the Scorps had a new one out. I shast check that one out.

Def Leppard never broke up. They just take years between albums. Hope this one is a good one.

My wife and I already have tickets to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers w/ Steve Winwood. I am looking forward to that. We have never seen either of them in concert.

AC\DC is going in the studio? That will be cool. More songs for the aspiring guitarists. :2thumbs:

Also, to keep with the same thread, George Michael is releasing a greatest hits next month and is going to tour. Money, Money, Money.

Def Leppard never broke up, but the original soul of the band deteriorated when Pete Willis was thrown out and finally died with Steve Clark. To me, High and Dry was their zenith. Pyromania was great, but was obviously where they began moving toward pop. "On Through the Night" was great, but prototypical. Hysteria was a huge success and had some great tracks on it. But that album was really a "Mutt Lange" album performed mostly by Def Leppard. The song "Love Bites" was originally crafted by him to be a country song. Even though DL spiced it up as a rock ballad, Mutt's voice is still on about 50% of the track (and maybe 50% of the album as what sounds like a chrous of people is usually all Mutt multitracked).

I LOVE Queensryche. I have seen them many times. But to me they lost something after "Empire". The new Mindcrime album was not terrible, but Degarmo really shaped the sound of the original and the only times I really hear a link is when they would totally rip an original Mindcrime riff and stick it in the new project. Live, Tate can barely pull off his old vocals. Last time I saw them was in '01 and I thought i was watching a bad cover band.

Metallica can never win unless they break down and just record copies of Master of Puppets. That band always strived to make each album different than the last. They began selling out with "And Justice for all" and completed the deal with the black album, both good material, but geared at different people. AJFA was geared for the existing fans. Black was geared at the mainstream. After that each deal has basically been a disappointment.

To me the best band to maintain it all, sound, live performance, respecting their fans, etc is Slayer. That band keeps churning out the same style material all these years later and still put on a great show. I have seen them about 23 times now and will see them tomorrow if they come as they never disappoint.

Orange_Crush

Def Leppard and Queensryche...Jeezus!  Those two bands personify EVERYTHING that was wrong with 80's "metal."  Between DL's nickelback-like ability to make every song sound the same and Queensryche's inability to stop taking themselves so seriously (I actually fell asleep...TWICE... listening to "Operation Mindcrime.")  Those two bands were the epitome of SUCK.

Foo Fighters have never stopped putting out very popular albums.  Great band with a lot of chops.

The cult's last decent album was "Electric" and their last great album was "Love."  Sonic temple had one good song on it and that was pretty much the end of 'em as far as I'm concerned.

The Black Crowes were okay...sometimes very good.  I'd be interested in hearing their latest stuff.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.
