I always thought they did a rebody on the car because it was so bad. I saw the car at Carlisle in as found condition and it was beyond whipped. Here is a link to the resto. Sorry if this has been posted before as I know it has been discussed in great length here. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=119349#16

I got griped at last time this thread was opened, I'll leave it alone other than to say , it will depend on how much the buyer actually knows about the car.

NMike

from reading the story, it sounds like just the back end was swapped out. more original then some aero cars out there.

"Time to sell the meth lab"   :shruggy:

Just an idiot with no real talent for writing trying to be funny. He sounds like a smart @$$ know it all who really has no clue from the tone of that article.

It is pretty much is a rebody but if you're a DOH freak, and you see the process as being the same as an "archaeological dig" of a priceless artifact, there's really not much that's going to stand in your way. I just wish someone had the time, desire and money to treat every classic Charger with this much care because IMO they are all just as important as this one.

GL1 was murdered when it was decided that it would be restored. I don't care what any DNA expert has to say on the issue. The car that claims "GL1" status is not even a figment of the real car.  :Twocents:
