Good luck finding parts in the US? Think there is only around 20 or so in the states. If I am off say 200 percent that is only 4000 car for parts in the US.

What happen to the 70 Charger for $7,000.00?

71 Bee Man

G'day,

living in Australia, I've owned quite a few Aussie Chargers.

The shape is great, and they go quite hard. It's getting very hard to find decent ones though. The one thing I'd suggest when looking for one is to make sure you understand what model you're getting. Too often people think they are getting a genuine Aussie R/T Charger when really they're looking at a fake.

The Aussie R/T Chargers are now bringing quite good dollars. A neat Charger 770 with either the 265 Hemi 6 cylinder engine can still be found for reasonable prices. Remeber we only ever got small block cars down here, but the fast ones were actually the sixes. You've probably heard the figures of 14.2 for the 1/4 mile etc. They were the triple webbered siz cylinder cars and very quick off the mark. I reckon expect to pay around $8,000 - $10,000 for a good example of a basic Charger - say a 770, which is kind of the luxury Charger. They came with 245's, 265's,318's, 360's and even 340's. The 340 cars command reasonably high dollars now too. I just sold a neat E55 for $16,000 Australian and it was a daily driver - very neat, but nothing too fancy.

Hope this helps a little. I figure parts would be very hard for you to get over there, but no harder than for me to buy parts for the 71 Super Bee I just imported from over there. There are a few Aussie Chrysler parts places that specialise in mail order, which I think someones already listed.

The Aussie Chargers look great and go well.

Peter.
