Sounds good to go  in my book.

Hey can you drive your charger down there with out it converted to right hand drive? Just wondering what the Aussie legalities were regarding classic cars.

sorry to hijack the thread but I am curious....

Mines  right hook,if the car is 30 years or older you can drive left hook.

so since a 1968 is 40 years, if one were to be imported and shipped down there - it wouldn't have to be converted then?

good to know

Is that shell 100 octane available now? And I am wondering what is the cost per litre? The Aussie dollar is almost on par with the American. So I am wondering if that price would equate to here if Shell were to release the same.

I think you will find that stuff is pretty addictive.  It's like getting your car hooked on crack.

Check this wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating

There are 2 methods how to measure octane ratings. In Europe and Australia a method call RON is used which differs from the US method. As a consequence RON numbers are about 4-5 points higher than US ratings - European 95 is US 90/91..therefore Australian (or European) 100 octane gas is just about 95 in the US.

To get high octane fuel you might wanna go to your local airport an try to get aviation fuel - not kerosene but avgas - it has a higher octane rating than regular gas but it's expensive and sometimes it contains lead (in Australia).

Hope this helps

The highest in new zealand to the best of my knowlege is 98 octane so your saying its not really 98  :icon_smile_dissapprove: that sucks! i do know of a gas station that sells aviation fuel (av gas) from the pump but im sure its expensive.

During the summer there is a station here that has 110 on tap.  Its wonderful. I am guessing it will be around $10 a gallon now though.  It was just over $6 last summer.

We have about 3 options out here within an hours drive.
Sunoco station that sells a 95 at the pump,Auburn , WA. They also have Trick in leaded and unleaded if I remember right 105 , 110 , and 117 octane - the 117 was colored green - it was about $6.50 / gallon 2 years ago.
Another fellow who has a mobile trailer he takes to the local tracks with race parts, safety gear etc sells ERC brand - which is nice because if he is there you can buy it trackside [ local 1/4 mile]   and Pacific Raceways [ 1/4 mile and road course] sells [ i think]Sunoco also.
