There's a '68 Charger sitting down the street from where I am in a guy's yard under a tarp. I want to take pics of it without the tarp, whats the best way to approach the guy?

Show up with a bunch of cash and say youre interested in buying it.  I doubt hes gonna pull the tarp so you can take pics to post on the internet.  Its probably covered so people wont know whats under there

Hasn't this guy already gotten mad by you wanting to take pics?  I seem to remember you saying something like that.

Run up to the door, light a bag of poo on fire, ring the doorbell, as he is stomping it out run away and take pictures of the car.

Or better yet take pictures of your girlfirend working on you car.  Unless she's under 18 ofcourse..   :icon_smile_wink:

I think the biggest problem with this plan is the "show up with a bunch of cash" part.

Honesty is the best policy (Most times ).  Just go up and tell him your love for the cars and ask if you could snap a shot.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I have always had better look comming to the house in a Charger, that has always had people open up.  The down side,  After seeing what one of these could look like, they may be real reluctant to part with theirs.

This is the best way......just say you noticed he has a Charger and that you're fixing up one too and ask if he knows where any parts are.....don't ask about his car.
Let him show and tell on his terms....it shows you're not after his car, even if you are.
Even if he isn't interested in selling, he may turn out to be a good source for parts or just a cool dude to talk cars with. :2thumbs:
