i am into my 742 chunk and wondering if should install new thrust buttons ? mine are damaged and i changed my axle bearings to the green bearing set  up . thanks  Tim L.

Hello, I believe you remove the thrust buttons when using Green bearings.  Hope this helps.

Yep.  You don't need or want the thrust buttons in there with green bearings which are ball bearings.  They don't want to see side loading which is why Ma Mopar used Timken tapered roller bearings in the rear end originally.  The green bearing are fine for straightline applications like drag racing.  I don't think they are the best for street use.  I know some have used them on the street successfully.  Just my opinion.
