It's ALIVE! Sweet sweet progress!

I just had to share this. I've been working on this car for well over a year. Last night was the culmination of lots of sweat (and money). I Went out to the garage last night, plopped on the new Edelbrock carb I just bought, checked everything for the 100th time, took two or three deep breaths, got in the car and hit the key. The engine turned over about twice and she lit!! It scared my wife, scared my daughter, ran the dog off and a couple of neighbors popped their heads out investigate. Man, I was smiling from ear to ear.    That Thumpr cam and the open exhaust makes for one helluva lot of noise, soothing noise that is. I think I'll get to drive it around the block maybe by this weekend. And maybe even finish the car by the summer of 2037!!

Today the neighbors pop their heads up. Tomorrow they pick up the phones.
Sounds great. Don't worry 2037 is not that far away. I hope to own a Daytona by then if I'm still alive.

Thanks for the comments everybody. I'm definitely gonna put hood pins on it, they look good and they may save my hood from blowing up one day.

My daughter is coming around. I was adjusting the carb yesterday (before the pic) and she came up and wanted to hold the vacuum gauge while I tuned it. Makes me a proud pappa.
