Will a push button start work when the ignition relay goes out in the column?
I am just thinking for later on in case of emergency or anything like that.

you can make it, but will need run wires up to down the column since switch does come with harness riveted.

would in need really more two systems to start the car... rocker kind switch to keep feeding the car ( and cut power wehn not working ) and push button to make works the starter motor. or somekind of swith with a double working system ( on/off and then push ), where you turn on and then push to crank.

Anyway, there is not a RELAY inside the column, so I think you where talking about the ignition switch inside the column.

In case of emergency you can also simply JUMP wires down the column, just need to know wich ones :D ;)

Another option: buy a new switch and have it around. when the one inside the column fail, juts unplug own the column and plug the spare one outside the column :P :D.

a column switch is really hard to get damaged. Earliers ones are easier to fail since they are prong kind, but not 70s riveted wires.

Mine didnt have any keys so they had a push button start with a kill switch jury rigged in there...

The alternator was hooked up either so I had to keep the Charger on a charger (lol go figure).
Then something happened with the push button so to start it you had to use jumper cables from the battery to the starter which was a pain in the ass.
