how do I find out what kind of tranmission I have?

hey guys, I have a 1968 dodge charger and was wondering how I find out what kind of tranmission I have? Its a manual, so does that mean its a 727 3 or 4 speed?

Slap stick is a an automatic transmission term.   The www.allpar.com site has some info on the different transmissions have been made and how to ID them.  I posted a link a while back as well on how to ID what you have.
