Like some of you may have know i wrecked my 69 Charger(and myself) 3 months ago.

After getting some cash from insurence(really low since they knew i wanted to keep it), and they are holding $4100 untill they see its finsihed.
Anyway i have bought a new hood a complete new grill(with everything) and that grill costed me allot of money. Allso got hold of one hoodhinges and a bumber, 2 front valance. Allso bought a really cut up fender, i hope i can build one good of them. Driverside fender may be saveable.

Started to really check all the damage, and whats needed. I have to put it in a bench for sure(and that aint cheep here).
Im allmost fully restored(little in my neck and in my foot and knee) and is now working, luckely i have an auto in my working car.

Thanks for the get well and help members have offerd

Hey, how did your wreck happen? It looks rainy by the looks of the second pic?  :shruggy:

1969chargerrtse

I remember when that happened.  So happy to hear from you again, thanks for the update.  Great to hear you are doing well and happy to hear that beautiful car will be back on the road.  :2thumbs:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

ChargerSG

Thanks.
To get a long story short, something in the frontend broke(cant check now since everything is smashed and broke anyway) and it drove stright of the road in 55 mph and i couldent do anything, and i smashed my head in the doorglass and destroyed my left knee and foot(worst), couldent walk and function without painkillers for some time. But now im allmost back on track and to start rebuilding my 69 SE.

Once i popped the hood i could see that everything expekt for the framrails, K-member, engine, and some small parts, the rest just scrap, soo a whole frontclip allmost. Then we have a quarter, bumber, rear valance and some other dings to.
A firm that i talked with, will take $21000 to restore it(all metalwork, and paint) but then i have to buy all material myself, tempting but then the car will be more expensive then what its worth. So its gonna be, get someone to put in a bench and then when its stright do everything myself.

I will post pictures of the rebiuld as it comes along....

Glad to see your back on track :2thumbs: I saw the original post on this, and I didn't think the front end was that smashed up :o  Your a brave man trying to restore that. If that was mine, it would be parts. :P

After he gets the front sheet metal off i bet a frame shop could straighten it though. 20 years ago most would have scrapped it  :Twocents:

Easier to fix the car than a person so I'm glad to hear you are coming along well.  Which is not to say that I'm unsympathetic to your plight with the car.  Really makes you hate insurance companies doesn't it?

70charginglizard

Yep, Glad to hear your feeling better.

Also glad to see your going to restore your charger back to it's original glory yourself. Good for you. :2thumbs:

You'll feel much better knowing that you did it anyway.

AMD is suppose to have new 69 Charger fenders, if you end up not making what you have work.

*Speed costs money son, how fast do you want to go, and for how long?"
*"Build the biggest engine you can afford the first time."
*"We normally wouldn't use a 383 for this build, parts and labor for a 440 cost the same."

Charger1973

This is the 69 SE you got from Iowa right?  Sad to see it in that shape, but its good you are doing better.  Im glad its going to get fixed.

I'm glad to hear your doing better..  You can replace parts to a car, not parts on your body....

I bought the AMD '69 Charger Hood and I'm more than please with it.  I'm waiting to order the front fenders.

Its funny in a way to read this now. The first tread was deleted thou to the insurens thing, but i found what i wrote from my sickbed about the crash.

"I was going to make a short spinn before putting the 69 SE Charger in the garage.
I have a long stright road outside my house and i take her up to like 60 mph(have a 4.10 suregrip so that goes fast).
When i have gone like 200 yards i let the fot of the pedal and just roll and was planning on turn the Charger and go back.
Still like doing like 55 mph it right out of nothing it just stears right of the road....
I try to stear it up but nothing happans, it was sitting there waiting for the hit(was like minutes thou it was like 1 second).
Hitts the ditch hard on the passanger front, the Charger rise and flips around one time(without hitting the roof)....
Time stod still in my head all sounds was gone and strange thoughts was going throu my mind, then landing and hell broke lose.
The Charger flyes over the road(miracle that i dident hit another car, i would have crushed a small car) and then back.
Spinns around 3 times and then plows the ditch for a few yards and them brutal stop in a rock.
I have manged to hold on to the wheel all that time but that stop make my left hand slip off and i banged my whole body in the door.
Smashed my head open bad(the door looked like a banana) and trash my knee and fot, but still walkes home...
Most important my family wasent in the Charger and that im alive"
