On another thread (Back in the day pictures) I posted a couple of pictures of Dodge Dude pickup trucks.
Well, it seems that for everything there is a season. And right now, there are threads about Dude trucks at several Mopar websites all at once.
So I figured maybe it would be time to start one here!
Here's a few Dudes, that are just waiting for somebody to rescue them. The orange one is in Alberta, the red one in Montana, and the green one is in Vancouver, on craigslist.

I think he was talking about the craigslist one that is from canada that has a 454 in it.    LOL..   Stupid chevy people.  But then again. I know a chrysler guy that has a 66 Imperial with one of those very rare 440 HEMI's in it.    He knows what he is talking about and he will fight you all day on it.    Moron (the guy with the imp).

Alright so what model years were the Dude Trucks available? I want a 1969 R4 red, white interior, white Dude Stripe truck to haul my 500 to shows.

C_stripes

1970 only from what i know.  It was to match the 70 Bee.    Tell me that wouldn't be cool to see. A Hemi orange Dude with a white stripe pulling a old school looking flat bed trailer that is also Hemi orange with a 70 bee in Orange with a white C stripe.    :drool5: :drool5: :drool5: :drool5: :drool5:

Dodge Dude trucks were avaliable in 1970 and 1971.
That doesn't mean that you can't put a stripe package on an earlier Sweptline.

Your gonna have to do some custom work to get a white interior. In 69 you only had four choices(black, green, blue, beige). You get a fifth choice of red if it's a Canadian truck.

69_500

Alrighty then so what were the interior colors options for 1970 on the actual Dude trucks?

TUFCAT

I'd would roll in a 440 powered Dude truck.  :2thumbs:

Magnumcharger

I don't think the Dude package actually had a specific interior option, like the Adventurer package.
It was whatever suited the exterior color I believe. I could be wrong...or right...until proven wrong!

..... the red one in Montana,.....

Wanted to buy the red one in Montana.  Was in Montana, but last I knew it was bought by a guy in Northern Wyoming, who I tried to buy it from.  Problem is with the gas prices, and distance to northen Wyoming it would be a 3 day round trip, and a $600.00 gas bill, motels, etc.

Again, this thread rears it's ugly head!

But since I have a good reason....I'll continue!
I'm out here in Alberta again, this time for a month. I'm filling in for a technician that is away on a course. This fits my plans perfectly, as I got to drag my truck and trailer out here and finally pick up the Barracuda I bought last year.
After doing that, I have a bit of time to kill in the evenings and on the weekends.
Long story short - in the last week, I've found TWO Dude pickups!

#1 Is a bright green 1971, 225 Slant six with 3 on the tree. It's in a junkyard, but definately not junk! Infinitely restorable in my humble opinion!

#2 Is a  Black 1970 Dude truck, with a blue interior, 383 V8, automatic transmission with sure-grip 3:23 gears.

I found this one this afternoon!

Goes to show these trucks were avaliable with pretty well every manner of drivetrain!

Now, what to do with this knowledge! Choices, choices!

Keep in mind, production of these trucks were estimated at less than 2000 in total.

One found here in Seminole FL. alive and in remarkable well condition. I keep seeing it but never have my camera or time to stop! Faded but still strong paint red one, no dents or rust as far as I can tell from passing by. White stripe is still in good shape and must run good as it's seen around here and there.   :yesnod:

I love these trucks! I bought a '69 Adventurer last year that runs like a top (318) for my kid to fix up one day. Didn't realize how rare they were until I went on Sweptline.com and had guys from all over North America trying to buy it off me (good $500 investment me thinks). Once the 68 Charger is done we'll start on it.

Yup, not Dude's but 4X4 and also 4 door long and short beds, fender and swept side with or without 4X4, we had them in the USAF. Being in "communications" we had a very cool radio box bed one with 4X4 and a big winch and bumper rig out front that was killer.  :2thumbs: Check GSA Auctions they still come up for sale now and then.
