I remember a friend of my dads having the gold centered cragars on his car back in the late 70's. They look cool, where did you find them?

plum500

Looking good! Good to see another '71 and damn I like those wheels!

Goldfinger71

Thanks everyone for the comments!
Yes,I seriously thought of selling it,but this was one of my Mopar dream cars! :yesnod:
Heck,I used to like them so much I tried hard not to think about one becuase they were so dang hard to find! :coolgleamA:
We have put ALOT of time in this car and when I bought it there was ALOT of parts included but the engine and tranny were missing in action.. :rotz:
So I have never driven the car!I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel!

Keeping the car is good for my sprit becuase of all the hard work my friends and myself have put into it is finally paying off!
I also decided to keep it to help be an inspriration to others in regards to overcoming obstacles(especially financially! :yesnod:)understanding teamworrk(no "I" in team.)And  for everyone to understand that good cars are still out there and can be bought at a fair price! :coolgleamA:....Just be patient and be prepared to stumble across something when you least expect it! :2thumbs:

I bought my wheels of off a Ebay a year or two ago.I bought them from two different sellers. The 2 15x10's were still in the original sealed boxes when I bought them!I know some people knock Ebay but I have found ALOT of stuff for my car through Ebay.I really didn't get gouged either becuase when I joined Ebay many years ago car parts were listed at very fair(sometimes low) prices! Today however it is not as easy as it was years ago with Ebay.

:o I haven't seen a set of those gold wheels in 20 years or so! There must be a place that will gold plate the all chrome one for you. Anyway, looking good :2thumbs:

I remember seeing a lot of gold Cragars on Firebirds and Trans Ams back in the late 70's early 80's.  I can't say I like them, but they were in style back in the day.

mikesbbody

glad to hear you decided to keep her  :2thumbs: I too love the wheels its personal touches like that which make it unique and your own.

Love your car! people who say they don't like 3rd gen Chargers, have never really looked at the 71 R/T or Super Bee or 72 Rallye.  I love the first gen interior and everything about the second gen, but those 3rd gen models have everything a muscle car should be.

Looks like it's coming along nicely. I have a 71 RT also. I'm sure that you already know this but with that high-rise intake on the engine that dual snorkle air cleaner won't work with the bulge hood.

Love that '71 R/T!! One of my favorites!!
Those gold Cragars rock!! Good luck in finding the elusive missing piece of the puzzle!

I have a different air cleaner than yours, but it is pretty tall and my hood closes just fine too.  The bulge hood gives you quite a bit of clearance actually.

I love gold cragar s/s wheels.  I wonder how they would look on an FY1 73?

I think they will look great his R/T but I dont think FY1 would look good with those wheels.  Im sure they could be photoshopped into one of the FY1 cars DS did for me in his photoshop thread though.
