Hey gang... Me again.......
I'm trying to fix my gas-powered weedeater........ It had a broken rubber line, but fixed that.. It haven't used it in quite awhile, about 6 months, at which it ran fine right up to the hose breaking...... She's getting fuel and I don't see any apparent blockages...... If I close the choke, it fires right up.... I'll set the choke to the middle of three setting (the other setting is regular warmed-up operation). In the middle position, it'll run for a few seconds, some times longer, and then immediately dies.. I'm sure it's fuel related, but don't know of any adjustments.... I've tried this with and without the foam filter on... Same thing....... Also, the plug seems to fire when I take it out and pull the cord.. It is "used" black, not flooded black.............

Oh well, maybe it's easy, maybe it's terminal.........

Cheers

Take a wire brush to the plug OR get a new one, may have varnish on it and not letting it warm up.

Loosen the gas cap and then try to run it.  The caps are vented and can get plugged up, creating a vacuum and starving the engine for fuel.  If that works, replace the cap. If it doesn't work, replace the weedeater.

They're cheap, don't spend too much time or energy trying to fix one.  :Twocents:

Could be the fuel pump diaphram on the carb (the one with the metal disc) I had to replace one on a 6 month old echo, I reckon it had been in a warehouse for a long time before I bought it . On some eaters you can replace it without removing the carb.

Back N Black

The rubber line that you replaced, was it the one in the tank? The line in the tank can get soft over time sitting in the gas and it will collapse when you start it up and cause fuel starvation.  :Twocents:
