Cautiously watching something on eScam

There is a car that I am VERY interested in on eBay right now. Just a few hours left. The car is being sold by a "holdings" company with fairly good feedback. The add is vague and brief, the pictures are no better. If the price stays as good as it is, the pics won't really matter, the car is worth it. I have asked the seller some questions and he didn't answer any of them. He replied to my questions via an aol e-mail account. Here's where i start to worry.... No title, no fender tag, no door tags. No info on condition of interior or mechanicals. He's also not willing to take additional pictures. The car sounds like it was stolen or repossessed. I wouldn't be surprised if the doors were locked and he didn't even have a set of keys for it. Of course the seller would never say that until he got his money.... When things look and smell this bad is it really worth it?

Sounds like a scam, I do enough feebay to know to steer clear of Bozos like that. Keep a tight grip on your wallet and don't drop the soap. Ray

hey, ya never know. what does a company care about a car form the sixties anyways? if you do decide to get it, buy it and show up with cash. piece of junk, no title, and anything else wrong?   walk. take the bad feedback. bad feedback is nothing compared to getting screwed.   my thoughts.

Okay, after much deliberation I have decide NOT to bite. Not that I don't trust all of my pals here, but I wasn't going to post a link until I had come to that decision. Here it is with only a few hours left. If I was a couple hours closer to me geographically I'd wouldn't hesitate. This is a hellofadeal for this car. I have been watching them non stop for a couple weeks and they don't get much cheaper. If you could get the cash there in person without much time or gas investment this would be one sweet project.

Also:

Talked to another person bidding on same car. He said that the seller wouldn't reply to any of his questions at all. I think the only reason he replied to mine is that I gave him my Gmail address to send me more pics, which he didn't have.

No worries bidding from them.  I've bought a couple items.  Look at thier feedback.  They sell big money Mopar parts alll the time

I've seen some rare e body projects they've had up for auction.

Remember lotsa folks told 69 OUR/TEA the auction for the triple black R/T he got smelled funny.  He scored.

It's tough, with all the scams a person never knows.  :shruggy:

Personally, I don't think it is that great of a deal.   I wouldn't think it was a scam.

The price (900$ at the time) isn't what was leading towards a scam, the seller's vague add, poor pics, and unwillingness to corporate with people trying to buy his car was leading me in that direction though.

It is what it is... just seems like he doesn't like to put much effort in his dealings, but definitely has a decent enough reputation that I would let him turn me off on a $900 purchase if that's what I wanted...

Just me...
