Ok so I am in Jacksonville (Yullee) driving down the road with a friend of mine and happened to glance over...there I spot not one but TWO mopars for sale!!!!  A R/T Challenger and a Dart Swinger.  I could not believe my eyes...I had my friend turn around and go back so I could get pics for hubby and I wanted the price for the Chally.  He only wanted $15,000.  The thing was cherry.  He said that no one has $$ out there so he couldn't get more, but I beg to differ.  He was in a richier area and I am sure he could get close to double what he was asking for.  I don't know how much he was asking for the Dart.....I just figured he was low balling the chally the dart was prolly low too....I invited him to our website...hopefully he'll post here.......

How far is that from Miami?   Maybe I'll get my 90 year old grandma to pick it up.....maybe she can sweet talk the older guy & she could get it for less :scratchchin:

I agree that really is a deal....you could flip & easily make 5k or more it its a real R/T

That's Jacksonville, FL and I was thinking California for some reason.

My dad is about 25 miles away from there right now.   :popcrn:

That pretty much is giving the car away. I find deals like that too every so often, but I never have the money at the time :-\

Question is, was it a real R/T or a cloned R/T? Either way $15K seems a little low, but then again times are getting a bit rough on some prices, and in certain areas' of the country they are taking it harder than in some others. Selled could be telling the truth, some areas are seeing huge lay offs, and if that is going on there, people just wouldn't have the expendible income.

chargerrt

That's only like 3 hours away from me.  I wouldn't even think twice about making the trip and buying it if I had the money.

400/6/PAC

Sweet deal
I hope a DC Member gets it.

charger01

Looks really nice......I would of found a way to get the money, and fast.

I was seriously thinking o robbing the bank that we were parked right next to.  The car was beautiful.  He claims it was a real R/T not a clone.  I didn't think of checking the vin to verify...I just knew I didn't have $15,000 and hubby just bought me a new car, so I wouldn't be able to store it anywhere......I just wanted to cry.....The car was soooo nice.  I hope that someone on here can find this guy and give him a talking to or buy it and give it to me.....LOL  He was in Yulee at the Target shopping center on A1A or Amelia Concourse (can't remember which one--I know we drove both)...I do know that there is a Target, a Home Depot a Starbucks and some bank in the center.

From what you've posted from the car, it isn't a real R/T, wrong grille, wrong hood stripe, challenger emblems in the wrong place, R/T emblems with R/T stripe (even though a few are known to have snuck out).  Any pics of the rear of the car?  I'd take a magnet to the car first, see if it is hiding anything.

Ryan

C_stripes

for a 71 that is the right hood stripe and the right grille. Looks like a nice driver.  I wouldn't mind the dart either.

That's a great price for that Chally, no doubt. I like the '71s best.

skip68

It looks great but might be a bondo bucket and that's why the price is so low.   :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin:  That still seems low even for a bondo bucket.   I'd bet he could get 25k-30k on ebag.   Don't rob the bank,  just take the car and you will do less time.  :nana:   Chuck.........

Great price. I paid more then that for mine. :slap:

TheAutoArchaeologist

In 71, they didn't have just the "R/T" emblem on the hood, they had it as part of the stripe.  And supposidly you couldn't get the "striped hood" with "DODGE" emblems.  I've seen them either way, but never with just a "R/T" emblem, and "DODGE" emblems.

Ryan

C_stripes

Sorry Ryan,  But I am going to fight you on this one. As I am a 71 only E-body fan. and I LOVE 71 challengers.  I have done some research. They didn't put a R/T emblem in the grille on 71 challengers. They either had the R/T Letters on the hood or they had the hood performance package. Either way it said R/T on the hood.  Here are some more samples showing both.  You can find them in Google images.   The Shaker hood cars didn't even say R/T on the front of them.            Jeremy

As far as the dodge emblems on the hood.  I would say that he must have used a 70 hood but the letters are way to close together for that. I am going to say they were added later. Maybe even an after market hood.   I would still own and enjoy the car though.
