Welcome! The Hemi guys usually stay in the penthouse eating shrimp cocktail and sipping champagne while the rest of us choke on beer and hot dogs. Right Mike?

Hehe, your Norwegian need some work!! I guess you tryed to say Hot damn, nice car! have you registered it in the 1970 Charger Registery yet?
It came out like: Warm shit, that is a friendly car. have you registered on "the 1970 avoiding the battery charger registration" yet? Hihi :smilielol:
But 10 points for trying :2thumbs: Was it a translation program on the computer??

Very nice car, it is Norwegian, and from the licence plate, it looks like it is from Telemark County somwhere!!
Stemmer det?? Jeg bor i Kristiansand.

Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

They don't have the Norwegian to English.  It was worth a try.  A different way of asking him to register the car.  ;)  Got to be careful though, don't want to accidentally tell him he stinks and his car looks like a Camaro.  :icon_smile_big:

Best I could come up with was, "Figures facts?? I drill in Kristiansand."

suntech

Quote"Figures facts?? I drill in Kristiansand."
Nice try  :2thumbs:
It means : is that correct?? I live in Kristiansand. " bor" can mean both drillbit, and live!! Funny that this should turn out to a Norwegian lesson. It is a small Country , with only 4,5 million people living there, so we are not that many people that speaks it. About 4 millions of us here, and a few in Minnesota and North Dakota!! :icon_smile_wink:

Hijack...Small world, my good friend's family that's from North Dakota are of Norwegian descent.  He even talks a little funny so his family must be fairly recent immigrants.  And strangely enough I remember him saying some of his other family live in Minnesota.
His last name is Post.  I'll have to ask him next time we talk what part his family's from.

You Norwegians' have good taste in automobiles.  :2thumbs:

Compared to the population, there are quite a few Chargers here! We are 7 with 2nd gens, just within a 1,5 hour drive radius, here down south  :2thumbs:

Awesome, awesome car!  Looks like a 4-speed due to the lack of a tranny fluid cooler in front of the radiator.

  1/2 Norwegian here.  Know anyone there with a last name of Thomley?  I need to get the family tree book out and trace my ancestors back to the homeland.  My spouse is 100% Norwegian.  We had some lefse this past weekend in fact..  :drool5:

QuoteWhat you saying about us North Daktoans?   hahaha kidding...YES many many Norwegians up in this area

Kinda funny story: Back in 2001 i crewchiefed on the Hooters Formula 1 powerboat team. On my way up to Saskatoon, i pulled over to find a place to sleep, in Minot, North Dakota.
As i drove around, looking for a place to park, i saw a lot of norwegian names on buildings and stuff. Got my 75 foot rig parked at the Dakota Inn, and hit for the bar :2thumbs:
Sitting there, with my favorite drink in my hand, i asked the guys there if i was right, that here is a lot of norwegians in this area? They said oh yes, every October they have something they call "huskefest" here, and they show up in national costumes, and talk a language we understand f**k all of, and to be honest, as the evening goes by, i don´t think they understand either :smilielol: :smilielol:
Then they asked if i knew Bjøro Håland (norwegian country singer, that i dont really like) and i answered that i was proud to say that i don´t know him, but he lives 20 minutes from my house.
Then one guy had friends that had a little farm in Birkeland, and asked if i know that place. I said yes, i know where that is, it is 15 minutes from my house, oposite direction of Bjøro Håland!!!   I guess they thought Norway was a VERY small country, after that night!!!!! :shruggy:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!
