Anyone running that size tire? I'm looking at buying a set of P325/15 drag raidals. They need to be mounted on a 10" wide rim. Will they fit on a 69? What backspacing on the rims?

I know a 10" will fit I believe you have to run a 5.5"backspace but not sure what that leaves for the lip or bulge of the tire.

Doug, send a pm to Tom (Mefirst) because he is running a 325/50/15 on his 70 Charger with 15x10 wheels.

Another option is a 295/65/15 and i have pics of mine on the wheel mockup thread in the wheels/tires/chassis forum if you want to see pics.

I bet they would fit w/ 5.5 backspacing, in theory, on paper, hypothetically.   :shruggy:  If you can return them it might be worth trying.

Thanks Ron! The problem is that if I want to stay with a 28 inch dia tire the size jumps up to P325s....there isn't anything in between. Since I am going to stay with P275s for the street I'm going to have to by a set of rims anyway.... :scratchchin:. If I can get a set of P325s to fit without any safty issues that would be great.

depends, i have 295/50 in the rear and they barely fit. It depends on what offset your rim is for the tire to fit.
life's a garden, dig it.

What backspace,,,, I am under the impression depending on the total diameter of the wheel/tire you could fit easy with 5.5 backspace....?

:shruggy: I just put that size on the back of my '68 and they look lost inside the wheel well. Seems like I could have fit much bigger tires under there. :shruggy:

Iagree, the 295/50 leaves way more space than I had expected, the BS is 5" (btw, I finally found some BFG 295's!)

Mine are on 15x8 rims and the BS is 5" I believe. Sorry, I'll have to double check on the BS.

Ohhh bull you could get a wider tire under there.  I know you can do a 5.5 backspace and looks from the other thread you could add an inch or two to the outside.

I know you can put a 10inch rim/tire combo under without mods for sure.  I have seen a friends black 70 that way.

Yea, I got my hands on some 15x8 wheels pretty cheap so I went with them hoping it would work with these tires. I does work but I was hoping for some more meat back there and apparently these Coopers aren't exactly liberal with their 295 mm measurement. I don't know if I'll change them or not yet.

Yeah, hopefully, BFG will realize the demand, and start up the production again...
