I believe I have the only 69 charger with this RARE option. I have never seen it before. This 69 RT SE has molding on the rear window that NO other charger has. It is NOT a aftermarket add-on or off another mopar. The car has EVERY single option you can get in 1969 besides hemi. Anyone on this board seen this rear window trim before?

The "trim" looks like it came off of a swingset or maybe a Vega hatchback. Possibly home made. It appears to be made of aluminum, Mopar window trim of the late 60's was made of stainless steel.

If the car has EVERY option besides the Hemi, Where is the rear window defroster ? Where's the power  sunroof?

I have to agree with Daytona.  I've never seen that kind of treatment before and know of no option code for it.  My guess is that it was added after-market, probably a long time ago (perhaps in the 70's).  I will say however that whoever did it, did a nice job.

Do you have a build sheet or fender tag that shows this as a factory option?

Yeah a build sheet will call BS or not, and that trim doesn't even have the style trim used on the rest of the car, it is shaped differently.

Option codes will tell the tale.

What was the option called? As in Chrysler's terms (Beltline moulding etc..)

Looks like a newer type of rubber glue - on molding . Like a Door Protector strip .

I would say aftermarket item, probably added when the vinyl roof was replaced.Look at the seam, the original seam is flatter and wider.

Good eye... and the seams don't not look like they are centered on the roof. It might be the pictures, but it looks like the vinyl roof is placed a little too much towards the passenger side.

I think it's one of those rare owner installed J.C. Whitney options.

I like it except when it doubles up or overlaps the rear window trim at the top.

I agree, the trim looks like the aluminum anodized trim from my cougar

I've seen that option before...a car in Patterson N.J. had it. I think it was a special package called the "Patterson trim" package, only sold in N.J. It came with pom poms, chrome chain steering wheel, matching carpet on the dashboard, Saint something or other glued on the dash pad and a Puerto Rican flag on the antenna mast.....

Oh, I thought you were talking about the Pioneer speakers at first.

Yea, anyway, you're not serious are you? I hope not. If so, why would they put cheap RV trim along the top edge of the sail panels and stainless everywhere else?

C_stripes

Even if that was a option. I would not have got it.  I agree with the above.  Very rare JCW add on piece.   Sometimes things are rare for a reason.    FUGLY!!!! :eek2:  And there is definitely not every option.I am guessing it does not have a dana 60. Does it have the J45 option.  If so I know there are allot of people that would love to see it.  How many fender tags does it have?   It does have A/C. So there is at least one option. What about V21? And being a 69. It could have had the A11 option also in which it clearly does not. So I would say that it certinly does NOT have "EVERY single option"     :2thumbs:

I would be more interested to know if it had cruise control on the car, along with A/C, 6 way driver seat, and I didn't spy a luggage rack on the back either. As also mentioned above it doesn't have the M51 option either, and the one option that I'm still waiting to see coded on a Charger is the M05.

Definitely looks aftermarket. :yesnod:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Man, you guy are just too funny.  :smilielol:  He definitely should have done some research
before posting some thing like that. When it comes to these cars, we do have some knowledge
about what came on these cars.

My parents had a 68 they bought new, I was 5 years old. I do remember that a year or two later someone brought the car down to the mechanical car wash and the axle of the big roller brush that spins over the top of the car..... totally destroyed the white vinyl at the top of the sail panels. It looks like maybe someone tried to hide a similar boo boo. My folks never repaired the damage. The car was sold a couple years after that and not 2 weeks later the new owner wrapped it around a tree. Andy

PS  I haven't been on the board in a long ass time. Bull, did you ever finish your car?

There is no way in hell that car has EVERY option a 1969 Charger could have.Where is the cruise control, power sunroof, luggage rack,V21,rear defrost,6 way seat,etc.,etc.,etc.?

Ghoste

No optional console either to go around that aftermarket shifter.

Ok guys, there is no need to pick on me because I thought it was original! Thats what I was told. It looks to well done to be a JC whitney add on. Iit has been on the car for many years. The car was a old drag car.. I apologize I offended you by saying it has "every option" Well it has nearly every option. Cruise control, power windows, 6 way seat, track pak, A/C, Power disc brakes, lower rocker molding, Rear window defroster was removed, the console was thrown out in the 70's to put in a B&M shifter. There woodgrain trim on dash was also removed. No, theres no sunroof.. The car had a white vinyl top. It was changed to black at some point. So the guy who pointed out it was not original is correct.
