Hey All, took a mental health day yesterday and installed my Stealth Heads. I used the ARP 12 point bolts and the ROL gasket. The fit on the gaskets was fine. The heads are not torqued yet but I'll do that tonight. I shot the bottom end of the motor but not the top end with the Plasti-coat. I didnt want the pan to start rusting and was ready to get the bottom end buttoned up.

Next I am ordering the new rockers, bolts, etc and chrome moly pushrods as spec'd by our resident motor expert Ron (thanks again Ron for the help). The final big purchase is the Proform carb.

Enjoy...

looking great  :drool5: those heads are looking more and more like they will be on my list of parts to get. what is the specs on your stroker what size and parts are in it and going in it?

This is the Ron "Firefighter" special! It's a 68 block, line bored and decked with a balanced 440-512 stroker kit from 440 Source. I put in main studs (and all new crank and cam bearings), a Melling HV oil pump, new Mancini Hemi pan, windage tray and pickup. The cam is a Engle Cam K60 with new lifters, three bolt and new gears/chain. New rockers from Mancinii and chrome moly pushrods. Intake is a Holley Street Dominator and the carb will be a proform 950. Estimated horsepower will be about 550+. My car has a worked 727 with kit and 3.23 sure grip. I'm going for a sleeper look and really just want to be able to do smokey burnouts at will (what can I say I'm stuck in my teens).

Hope to have the motor in within the next month.

i'm looking to go with the 512 stroker to once i get my 68 charger in running condition. what compression ratio are you running? i would expect it to make more HP then 550 thinking more like 650 if have the right parts or am i expecting to much from a 512?

Mfr426

I think I'll let the resident motor builder Ron "firefighter" answer that one. We were shooting for 550 and about 10.5 to 1 compression with aluminum heads if I remember correctly. He is actually the brains behind the operation. I just have the bad jokes and dont mind getting my hands dirty.
