I'm picking up a 383 and a torqueflite on Monday. i don't need it, but what the hey. If I were to put the heads and the intake from my 440, will it just bolt on? Do I need any extra parts to make it fit?

Eventually this motor is going to end up in my wifes Duster. I might use it in the Charger for a while, until I finish the 440.

The heads will just fine since they are the same but the intake is wider on the 440, you'll need a "B" intake for that part.

im getting an edelbrock performer intake for the 383 in the deal. so just swap heads...nice :coolgleamA:

Another point of interest would be the head gasket, they make some pretty thick ones that rob compression.  It isn't much but it all adds up.  I preferred to go with the steel shim with some spray copper gasket seal.  Also, I had my heads checked to ensure they were true as well before installation.
