I'm going to check out a '71 Road Runner that's for sale locally soon and I'd like to get some information on them before I go. 

What problem areas should I look for?
What lettering in the VIN makes it a Road Runner or Satellite?

Anything important info about them would be helpful  :icon_smile_cool:

The 2nd digit of the VIN # should be a M making it a Road Runner

I'm pretty sure RM23 should be the first digits for a RR.

*EDIT* Looks like 71 'bee beat me to it. :)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
