Searched but didn't really find any posts that said who makes a good set of these.  Any experience?  what about the JC Whitney ones  not what I was headed for but can't find others.

I would avoid the ones in JC Whitney.
Never liked them, would rather fabricate what we need.

Nothing to see here folks, its just a Bluesmobile

Stay Away from JC Whitney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Their newer model stuff maybe ok, but the qtr patches I bought for my 70 were complete crap. :Twocents:

Mill Supply also has rear quarter skins available. Metal thickness is about the same as the oem and it has good body lines.  I'm installing one on my 74 charger right now.
Here are some pics.

Dude, nice pics.  That is great to see and gives me hope.  These things have been like bigfoot, everyone says they exist but these are the first pics I have seen mocked up on a car like that.  They look awesome from here.

There is one other thing I have wondered about, does the side marker area line up perfectly?  The rallye stripe I plan to use wont line up if they have the side marker light is in the wrong place (more $$$ to have it moved).

Not sure about that. I will take my old panel and see how close it matches up. I was thinking about putting the rallye stripe on mine but decided not to since its a numbers car. Heres a pic of mine.

Hmm, well I think I would go ahead and add the stripe, because the hood is not original anyway and its only a decal... it will come off.   ;)  Great looking car though :)

Yeah that will be great if you can check whether or not its in the same exact spot.

^^ Good places to buy the sheet metal from. However I've also heard that Tabco actually runs about $330 and NOT $210, regardless of what their site says. I may be wrong though.

Auto Body Specialties also has rear quarter skins. They use to carry Tabco brand but I think there getting them from Mill Supply now. They have it listed for $225 but that price may not be right.

We ordered a left rear qtr panel from Tabco in March  they said it was backordered and would let us know as soon as they had one available.  I have checked with them every couple of weeks since then.  Been told they had the blanks and they were at the benders for almost a month now.  Today they call and say they have the panel ready to send out but instead of the 209.75 that I was quoted in March, and that is also the same price on the order form I faxed to them, they now say it will be $329 PLUS shipping.  Is this the usuall way they do business?  We have waited a long time to get this part and now the price will be double or more.

Yeah, not surprised. 330 is around the price they are supposed to be. Why they list them at 209 is completely beyond me. If I were you, I'd definitely be speaking up about it. Technically that's false advertising, AND the fact that they quoted you at that price.

However...they DO make the best qrtr panels :P

Oh they heard a lot from mrs farmerjon on dishonest business practice  they claim that NO one there would have given out that price.  What--I just pulled it out of thin air?  and it seems that some one could have corrected that price in the 5 months it took them to get the panel.  Final price 329.75 for the paqnel and 130 for shipping    great  just great :brickwall: :RantExplode: :eek2:  :pullinghair:
