Very lucky find!   Those are the same hubcaps mine came with but only  3 of them came with the car when I got it! Need to find another one!

TruckDriver

I wish I could get that lucky once. I am usually always a day late, and a few dollars short when I do find something decent :P

What do you think the odds would be, firstly: finding a Hemi-anything?
Then it's all original, and then - owned by the person that bought it new!

And: it's in perfect shape!!

Like winning the lottery!!

Gorgeous car! Doesn't look like an SE but it has the rocker moldings. Is that possible?

Yes, in fact I believe it was optional even on the SE.

bullit68

my 69 hemi rt has the rocker moldings and it isn't an se,in fact they didn't make any 69 hemi rt/se's.i love to see stories like this, but i sure hope the original owner didn't get robbed out of his car.

What a find! I wonder how much he paid for it?

He didn't say exactly. But he did give us a hint... "Hello, lets just say I used to have equity in my home."

True, which doesn't really make the guy lucky. I'm sure this car was known by more people than some think (I don't care what the writeup says). This guy just happen to pony up the cash and buy it. The true "lucky" guy, would have been the first person that found it and got it for free. Now that's luck. :yesnod:

ps- Nice car.  :2thumbs:

pss- How long before the car is for sale?  :scratchchin:

bull

I agree, Chris. Although by today's standards it seems just finding a Hemi Charger that's for sale is where the luck lies. But yea, lucky to me would be picking it up for $1,500. I'm sure the old guy knew what he had.

Hello Everyone, that is my car. I am a long time member on Moparts but I am new here. This truly is a find of a lifetime for me and I feel very lucky to have had the chance to buy this car. To answer someones comment about this car being well known, it was not. The owner was very reclusive and paranoid about the car being stolen so he did not tell anyone he had it stored in his garage all these years. The last time the car was driven was in 1997 when he took it to the Hayes Mopar Show in Commerce, Georgia. He did start the engine on a regular basis and warm it up. All I need to do is to give it a good general tune up and fluid service. I will also adjust the valves as I was told they have not been adjusted since 1971. I have attached a picture of me with the original owner right after we coaxed the engine to life and pulled it out. will have this at some cars shows this year including Carlisle where I will see if I can get it into the Survivor Tent. I also will probably take it to the Charger meet in Texas in a couple of months. Thank you for letting me share this with you, Steve Schweitzer.

Hello, to answer the comment about the rocker mouldings they were ordered on the car and show up on the window sticker as an option.
Thanks, Steve

Hello, to answer the comment about how long before it is up for sale I will say NEVER as long as I am alive! I am actually going to sell my V code 4 speed 70 Challenger R/T so I can afford to keep this one. I consider this probably the find of a lifetime for me and plan to keep and enjoy it for years to come.
Thanks, Steve

Welcome here 69hemicharger !!  You have indeed found a needle in a haystack and will love the Charger.  What is the build date of your car?  Just wondering as mine was also built in Hamtramck and was built on 3/14/1969.  I will be looking forward to meeting you and seeing your Charger in Boerne this year!  Mine will be on the rotisserie by then but I will have it there next year!
