Yes the wing melted.  Some souvenier pieces were on Ebay a few years ago.

Doug, Any word on what's been happening with Rome Benedict's old car since Dub Clenney sold it. I wanted that car bad, but Dub had promised it to someone else. It still had remnants of the old paint scheme and the velour interior. I expected it to be restored quickly. If I had bought it, the car would be finished long before now. Seems like the original color was tor-red and it was a six pack car. Dub also sold the yellow 440 bench seat car that I almost bought in the late 90's. He's down to one blue Bird now.

Good eye, the heat must have been concentrated more at the back I guess.

When I saw the Romeo car a couple of years ago, it seems like it still had some of the blue paint left on it. As soon as I saw that wld interior, I knew that it was Rome's old car. Dub was shocked that I knew the car. I told him that people had been wondering what had happened to the car and he wrote the update for WWNBOA. He sold it almost immediately after that. Would love to see the car returned to the "Super Go" paint scheme but we know that's not going to happen. The new owner will probably put it back to the original color and it will blend in with all of the other birds.

Taken during the downpour.    The second car is the Roger Dennee custom painted Bird we spoke about not long ago.  He lost that car in a divorce.  The third car, the Daytona is the one now painted up like a K & K Insurance car.

this picture looks familiar!  I didn't attend, but someone sent me pictures from this meet.  I'll look/see when I get home tonight.

Doug, I have the EXACT same picture in my album, with a second, horizontal picture overlaid on it to show some cars in the other parking lot row, plus it gives a better view of the wings.  I know SOMEBODY gave the the pix; cant remember who.  thought it was Joe M from the winged warriors, but if you have a copy... :shruggy:

I finally got around to posting this.

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

Wet wings.  You gotta love it huh?  Nowadays you'd be hard pressed to find that many clones sitting out in the rain like that.

they dry off.

You wouldn't know it much nowadays though.  Seems like more and more of these old cars are living in garages that are nicer than my house.

69_500

Ain't that the truth. You would think that how some of these people treat these cars that they would melt if exposed to sunlight or rain.

I agree.  The car looks great the way it is.  Has personality.

Aero426

This is from last August and the cars are all wet.   The good old days have not left.
