After a quick search, I can't find anyone that makes a tire in that size. Are you sure about that? Which brand of tire is it? Generally, the manufacturer has a list of preferred/approved rim widths for every tire that they make. Do you realize that tire is 30.5" tall? BFGoodrich has a 285/60-16 Radial T/A that is 29.5" tall. The recommended rim width is 8-10" and it has an 11.4" section width on an 8.5" rim. Many manufacturers make a 285/40-17 but the rim width gets wider as the aspect ratio gets smaller so these require a 9-11" wide rim.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Yeah it's made my yokohama. I was wondering if they'd fit on my stock ford f-150 wheels.

And I'm an idiot. I just found that link, and it has the recommended wheel sizes on it. Recommended is 8.5x17.

Thanks, Troy. :2thumbs:

8" would be the minimum reccomended width.

Just as a future reference... you can play around with tire sizes and widths, etc, etc... at the following site:
