When I had my car painted a few years ago for some reason my fender tag was "lost" and never found. I want to get another one made and was wondering if any of you guys could help me figure out some things. I dont have the build sheet any more. It was damaged beyond repar, actually more like turned in to dust when we moved. Any who my car is a '68 318 car no real options. I have made an attempt at trying to figure this thing out and heres what I've come up with.

a  b  c  d  e  f  g  h  j  k  m  n  p  q  r  t  u  w  x
    4                              6                        1
A  B  C  D  E  F  G  H  J  K  M  N  P  Q  R  S  T  V  W  X  Y  Z
                                                       1                   2  6
1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8          AX          TRM          PNT          UBS
    5  0             8              4            C6X           JJ1           B
X P  2  9      4   1       5       46            212            083060

Does this seem about right? I wasnt sure on the tire code or the axel ratio.
Thanks much for the help :2thumbs:

The letter under the 'U' in "UBS" should be an 'X' for a black interior. I'll have to look up the rest later. Did you ever make a copy or take a picture of the original? Did you happen to ask here for help decoding it (even on the old site)?

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Ok UBS fixed from J to X
No, I never took a picture or made a copy :slap:. I never asked for help on it before except about the build date. I tried to figure it out using Andy 440s site and using a '68 dart tag for the letters and spacing.

'68 used "B" for black upper door frames..... :Twocents:
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

FIxed X to B
What about the tire code and axle ratio? :shruggy: I believe the axle ratio is the 3.23 but I'm not sure

Whoops! Got my interior and exterior color codes mixed up! Sad since I have one black car and another with a black interior so I should have just looked at the fender tags. I should write some of this stuff down...
