God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Tell Grandma to cut you some slack.  Say 500 ??  Kin folk need to take care of eachother.

For a $1,000 bucks on that Imperial, you could easily double your money without doing anything to it other than washing the car. It appears to be in pretty decent shape. Granted its not a muscle car, but it is still a car that was a luxury car in its day, and it is still something that certain areas of the collector car market look for.

dodgecharger-fan

I'd be interested to know more about the Imperial... seriously. I love the old land yachts just as much as the muscle cars.
I'm kicking myslef for passing on an Imperial a couple of years ago.

Don't tell my wife though, k?   :icon_smile_big:

My dad had a '57 Ford and I thought it'd be neat to help him find one to relive his youth. I mean, they can't be that expensive right? Well, they cost more than any one of my Chargers so he's out of luck. If you find one of those for $1,000 let me know. ;)

I do like many of the '50s cars but they were a bit before my time so I'm not desperately looking. Would be neat to add one to the fleet some day.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I'd love to find a '49 or '50 Hudson Commodore that is in decent shape. :yesnod:

Show us more pics soon & a list of what's there. :coolgleamA:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, all that time waiting and NOTHING!! Bunch of just old cars, old cars your grandma and grandpa would drive. Only car worth posting a pic of was this thing, not even sure what it was but no muscle whatsoever. I feel so unsatisfied.

Congratulations, you've just walked away from a 1957/1958 Imperial. That, if it's unmolested has a 392 HEMI under the hood.  In the '50's the Chrysler 300's and Imperials were THE HIGH PERFORMANCE CARS. :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

Depending on it's condition/body style it's very collectible and could be worth a fortune :brickwall:

tttaziz

That's a 1958 Imperial.  Current Kelley Blue book puts it at $4000+ if it's a 4-door, $8000+ if it's a 2-door.  That's for FAIR condition.  Good is $10,000/$17,000 range, Excellent is $17,000/$30,000 range.  Might want to reconsider that $1,000 offering price.

I guess a lack of knowledge on stuff from the 50's could have cost you a cool ride.  I don't know much myself but I would have at least went and poped the hood on it. Pay the 1K and have a nice ride.

Ya know.....you better do some homework on some of those "grandpa" cars. There are some 50s cars that if sold right just may be able to buy you a Hemi car or two. Did you get a list of what you saw? You would be VERY surprised at the value of some of that old iron......some cars can top 200-300K for the right ones

Any Desotos? Looks like the one in the picture is an Imperial.....worth more then you think if in good condition. I would start doing some homework if I were you. What is she going to do with them? Are they for sale?

put em in the local one ad classifieds. Hmmm, ill post the pics of the cars here and you guys tell me.

Like the Imperial she said I could have for $1000, is it worth that?

DUDE!!!!! Do I have to tell you? Does it run? Is it whole? What year? You do know 55-57 have hemis right? 1K is a DEAL! You could easily make a couple of grand on that if it's in any kind of shape!

Here is where you can do your homework.....

You will need make, model, options, and condition for accurate numbers....

Looks like a 58 or a 59 Imperial....http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1958/index.htm   http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1959/index.htm

need more info for value........

definitelly 57 or 58!!! because the "splitted" look of rear bumper to the license plate location... 59 is more continued

I would like a 50-54 one

1958 because it has the little reflector mounted under the tailight.  1957 doesn't have that reflector.

Hemidoug

I see a lot of potential to make some cash at 500 to 1k each. You clean them up and get them running you could easily double your money. I wish I could walk into an opportunity like that. You have a golden opportunity if you are willing to put in the effort...... :Twocents:

The Imperials pretty neat.  Id probably try and snag it just because it looks nice and complete.

Id also look into the Riviera and the Dodge truck.  The Riviera really doesnt look bad, unless theres something majorly wrong with it, it could make a good driver.  And everyone needs a truck...

The70RT

That white lincoln (70ish) and the pickup caddi would sell. A few may be junk but scrap prices are through the roof now so now is a good time if some are of that nature. I would just get them road worthy and tell her you will split the profit.

Honestly, after seeing the pictures I'd pass on them all. However, that's just me! If I were in the market to flip cars and make some decent money then things would be different but I really don't buy anything that I don't plan on keeping and I have better things to spend my time on. If you have the money, time, and energy to haul them, clean them, list them for sale, and deal with people then you could do all right.

I agree. Other than the Imperial, I wouldn't bother with anything else.

Charger1973

I would think the Imperial is the only one you have a shot at getting $2k for.   Id still look at the Riviera as a driver though.

well I was mainly looking for something to restore, thats why at first I wanted to just walk away. id haul em away and clean them if I could flip them on ebay for 100% markup, but im not sure if I could make even that. She wants id say $1k for each, just unsure if I could get atleast $2k for any of those.

If that is the case just get the Imperial. she will never get that kind of money out of those since they are drivers at best. Let her advertise then go from there. Maybe she will let you haul some off for scrap.

It looks like you photographed the transportation lot for the movie Goodfellas. Some nice early 80's mob mobiles there.
